So, I decided to forget about a necrolock for now in the new content for various reasons, not least of which, I don't think my DCs will be high enough to be really effective.  So I am re-jiggering.  I am stuck with Deep Gnome and I am not interested in bursts, mostly cone blasts.  I am just on the fence whether it's worth dropping Eldritch Wave, Spell tearing, and Illusory escape, to put 8 points into ES for essentially 21 spell power, 6MRR and 2PRR, and Eldritch Power...

Without the racial, completionist, racial completionist you should be 6 cha down. Why can't you make your DC's work ? Honestly, if you want feedback on this you would be better off on the vanilla forum.

What does that mean?  I know already that I won't be in the 90s for necro DCs, that's based on my current lvl 30 build and gear that I have.  I am going to be running the new shit  with my guildies and it's all going to be EE.  I am still getting epic lives for the extra twist and I need DG and Warlock for those PLs.  So I can stay a necrolock and be useless because all my instakills don't do anything.  Or I can LR spec for Evo, Conjuration and max blast damage.  That way I'll at least be useful for Evards, Web and some damage.  But thank you, you comments are very helpful, but doesn't someone's gramma need help across the street?

Yes, but as it turns out, I significantly underestimated the amount of slavers mats required for a 5 piece,  or at least when I went to the bank to look at my stash it fell quite short... and while we are all assuming that the drop rates are going to be juiced in the first couple weeks of Ravenloft, counting on specific items to drop doesn't seem practical, nor does it help my DCs.  And I still have epic PLs that need to get done, so if things do drop I can respec back to necro later on one of those lives...

I don't have any boxes, or box accounts I guess I should say.  I have been thinking about it...

Or better yet, find friends or guildies that already have sets complete and get them to run it with you and pass the mats.

It will go quicker than soloing it and running 5 other toons from chest to chest in those long-assed dungeons.

But playing with yourself is usually so much more satisfying...
