At endgame yes, while levelling its much better to have displacement, stoneskin, wall of fire and haste e.c.t.

Both can swing a weapon pre level 8 without too much difference in performance.

WF FvS also requires the same weapons (and some gear) as a melee where as a sorc/wiz tends to only need a power item and a superior inferno clicky to get to 16. He won't need to craft a GS weapon along with a HP item making it easier to hit his deadline.

Its easier (and faster) farming Orchard for minos and other slayer areas with an arcane as well. He will also be more useful in epic for wall of fire ai exploitation.

He may not have 32pt builds either which will hurt his FvS more than an arcane.

My votes for WF Sorc, faster to level and easy to acquire basic gear for endgame.

Thanks for the input.  I have about 60 days to get there before I need to get the review out.  I think I will go with a sorcerer.

Run plenty of shrouds, 1 ToD, and a smattering of other raids. No boots, half the mats.

So, you'll get a low-to-mid endgame ready character.

fuck thought I hit edit and honestly people will bring even a bad high level cleric into epics or high end raids just for a heal button masher. Its dumb and why many dont have respect for the class.

So let me move on to my next point.. someone ELSE came asking for help, and you rant because someone offers them a toon of a particular class?
