I agree that Drow are sub-optimal for most all melee classes because you are burning 4 build points on int and cha, which is a total waste. Clerics are a similar boat.
A min/max case could be made for FvS, Sorc, Wiz not being a terrible choice if you want to start with 20 in your main casting stat.
TWF Drow Pally can also make a case by saving you build points on qualifying for GTWF requirements and on DM requirements.
I think Drow is the weakest of all the races in terms of class/race synergies but it's not terrible 100% of the time.
Drow really need their enhancements reworkd, some prestige lines, or something to jazz them up.
