The core of officers used to be pretty damn good.
I'll chime in on this one...
My buddy and I were members of StormLords for a while after the server merge with Xoriat (my original server). They had a handful of good players, but a lot were 'casual' or just there for the social aspect. Many were spouses, children, etc.
They did not have any sort of quality control, accepting any that wanted to join, and no organization. We convinced the leader to put up a guild forum with a roster, but many were not registered and most did not fill out the roster at all. The leader was often AWOL for months at a time.
There was one officer that, I can only assume intentionally, gave out completely incorrect info, and when challenged would basically repeat himself over and over and call you names for suggesting that you knew better than he.
Due to my friend and my performance and leadership/party-forming, we were promoted to officers, and tried to whip the guild into shape. This was soon after shroud was released.
...in this process we approached the leader asking to remove the chaff from the guild, as we couldn't even run raids successfully with a full guild group. We were rebuffed.
We left the guild to form our own at this point. Several other competent players also left, some joining us, others finding greener pastures. Cercive was an officer at this time, and left soon after.
When renown was introduced they, if possible, lowered their already abysmal standards in favor of headcount.
Cheers for the #1 guild on Big-T!
