chaotic alignment questions

Hey everyone,
I made a couple of the Scimitars from cove event and am wondering how to approach setting up a toon to use them.  I am currently leveling a version of the Lessa build on the forums 13rog6rgr1mo, elven with the scimmy/falcion enhancement line.  He's currently lawful good.  My question, is there any disadvantage of going chaotic neutral or perhpas chaotic good, at this point he'll be able to umd good aligned weapons so I am thinking of going chaotic neutral.  I know neutral has advantages versus unholy spells.  T

I can't see any significant advantage to going Chaotic since you don't get a negative level for being Neutral as far as I can see.

Neutral Good or True Neutral looks like the path to take unless there is something really sexy that you can get from being Chaotic that I don't know about.

the Epic brigand cutlass is absolute chaos which will neg level me if I am not chaotic.  Are there any mobs that deal out lawful damage?  or spells cast by mob casters that do?

Orders Wrath, which I know the Warpriests in IQ cast, will do damage and can stun.

It looks like a white cage.

That's what you think is supposed to happen. You should try it on a neutral guy yourself. I won't spoil the surprise.

So is that WAI or will it be fixed at some later date?...

How should I know? I'm not a Dev.

Honestly, I don't care whether it's WAI or whether it will be fixed later. I'm going to use one on my Pally so I've made peace with the idea of having a constant negative level while wielding it. Losing 5 hitpoints, +1 to hit, and +1 to saves on a Paladin isn't much of a sacrifice even if they *do* fix it.

A question from somewhere in the same ballpark:

I checked out the alignment change stuff late last night.  When I searched at the ddo store under the heading all that came up was Lawful Neutral.  Main is Lawful Good.

So am I correct in assuming that you'd have to buy multiple alignment changes to get to Chaotic?  Not that it matters or is something I will actually do.  I'm just curious as it seems to be tiered in steps.

Did you check on a monk because the store only shows the alignments that are valid for THAT character. Check on a Barbarian or Bard and you won't see lawful alignments.

I caught myself with this fact today since I wanted to get some SP potions at 1/2 price and had none offered to me since I was on my monk at the time. Swapped to a Sorc and there they were.

Excellent point.  Hadn't considered that.  Sadly, I have no monks to check it out with.  I'll take your word on that though Smiley

Sale on sp pots?  Hmmm... I'll have to take a looksy.

The most obvious one would be that you couldn't take that level of monk you were planning.
