(your other recommendations were much better than cleave/great cleave and depending on build/playstyle may be better than extra toughness feats)

I thought the cleaves were supposed to increase DPS against large groups The attack animation is kind of fubar'd, so you actually end up losing DPS unless you're TWF and surrounded by a tight packed swarm of minaturized Kobolds. Just glancing blows alone will make your regular swings good enough (edit: with THF, obviously) at dealing with swarms that Cleave isn't needed and Cleave really sucks at actually killing things, so any potential extra DPS even against tightly packed swarms will end up being fairly pointless. It's really disappointing that the Cleave line isn't actually useful in any situation that will really happen in DDO.

Monk 20: Race: Warforged S: whatever D: whatever C: 20 I: whatever W: whatever Ch: whatever Feats: 1: Toughness 1M: Toughness 2M: Tougnness 3: Toughness 6: Toughness 6M: Toughness 9: Toughness 12: Tougness 15: Toughness 18: Toughness As an alternative build, you might consider taking levels 7-20 as Fighter or Paladin so that you can get more HP. Also, Human is a viable alternative to Warforged in order to take the free Human granted feat Toughness. Half Elf with the Barbarian Dilettante may also work for you if you can deal with being a Half Elf.
