THF melee character (Read 3792 times)

	I'd like to make a THF melee character and the Blitz build looks better than most to me because it comes with really nice DPS and full ranks of UMD so that I can use scrolls and wands to buff and heal myself. Ftr20 is an obvious build because doublestrike on a two handed weapon is just plain sexy, but I already have one Ftr20 and I really do miss being able to run through a quest without having a babysitter stapled to my ass. Any thoughts on making a THF build that is more than just Bbn20 or Ftr20?

	I ran up a THF Human pure Warchanter. With Falchions and songs, does respectable DPS.

	Just finishing up one of Groan's Blitz variations Pope, he called it Monster Hunter or some shit. 12 F 6 brb and 2 rngr No evasion (meh) No umd (kinda hurts), but Kenasi burst, power raged, multishot w/ improved precise and a lit II bow is a thing of beauty.

	Thanks for the thoughts. Bard had actually never occured to me. My experience with Bards so far has been "sing a song and then swing ineffectually at monsters without actually doing any real damage." I know that they can be good characters, but I hadn't yet gotten past the "can't do anything more than swing a Carnifex" stage of the character that every character seems to start with. I'll give a smash-your-face-in Bard a try. PopeBiz Markie will get some lovin's later this week.

	I've got access to a friend's account ATM (mainly helping him out with Cove as he has no rig at present) and I like his 17 bard / 2 rogue / 1 barbarian split a lot. Hjaste, displace, gh, songs, buff and go. She's a sturdy little thing, even as a drow. He says he'd have chosen human given the hindsight. Full trapsmithing skills, too. Seems to do decent DPS, although I appreciate I'm probably not the best judge of such things

	Warcrye can mash on Horoth for 70+ a hit with a +1 MoPG GAxe if it's any indication of a Bard's DPS
