My scroll bag was almost overflowing anyway.

I am kind of disappointed that they took the easy way out here. At least it doesn't punish the people that already went out and farmed the scrolls they needed. Those of us sitting on valuable scrolls for trade purposes get screwed though.

Trade now, don't wait.  Some people do not read the forums.  I have been selling rare scrolls like hot candy since then.  Ignorance is bliss, but everyone will probably know in a few days.

Early information suggests it will only apply to desert epic scrolls in U12.

Not to say that it won't be expanded to all Epic content down the line, but for the time being, your claw scrolls, SoS scrolls etc seem to still be valuable.

Well, desert is the main offender, most of the other areas have such a small number of different scrolls, you have a relatively decent chance of getting what you want.

I, on the other hand went woot! and bought 9 really shitty scrolls to turn into the few desert epics I would like (mainly the sirocco for my Soul but maybe the marichain for my completionists final life. And one extra annoying scroll for luck.

It gives me a reason to run desert epics again, since I despise scroll farming and won't do it. Nice one Turbine.

Desert has like 64 items yes?

If they just did that, I'd be ok with this.

If they did all the rest, I'd be happiness...I want my Claw set dammit.

Is the scroll really the hold up in getting the claw set?  Isn't getting the shard and seal the bigger PITA?  Anyone with a few FRDS can get the scroll.  They are traded regularly.

I think Turbine missed the boat here.  The problem with Epic is still that you can run the quest 1000 times and still not get the shard/seal you need to drop.  And be no closer to getting it than you were on run 1.  Better they offer a barter system for seals and shards than scrolls.  By making the scrolls unbound you already had a way to get them outside of the quest.  Can't do that with shards/seals.  Let us trade 10 seals from an adventure pack for any 1 seal we want from that pack.  Or 20.  Or 30.  I don't care how hard it is to do, but if I run a quest 100 times that should be enough to get the item I'm looking for.

Infinite grind is stupid grind.   This did nothing to fix that.

I think that's the point.  If they put in Shard/Seal trading then Shade would have a massive stroke from the idea of 'epics for everyone'.  Now while we'd all like to see that the dev's are afraid that Shade will get an army of halfling tossers together and break their next raid the moment they release it to Lamaland.  So in an effort to appease Shade they'll make sure that epics remain an infinite grind and only give the appearance that things have changed.

Because I have enough junk desert scrolls to never have to farm for good desert scrolls ever again. There are only so many stink pelt hides I really need (the answer is 0).

I think it definitely changes something, and that something is scroll farming.  I have no problem with this idea in theory or practice, and the main reason is that it's been used for so long to absolutely gouge the shit out of players.  This is taking the most easily accessible part of the epic item and making it accessible without having to have 30+ reds, which is the main way for any non-farmer to get themselves a Mari Chain scroll.

Plus, imagine all of the instances having to be spawned for one dude to run around, aggro all the things and drop them into the scorp pit.  Maybe it'll give us a fractional lag drop.  Not that we'd be able to notice during Mabar, of course....

The only issue with that, and it's really not an issue, is that by going down that avenue, you'll never see another seal/shard put up for roll again, regardless of it's worth.

Good point, the main group that will be complaing about this, are the ones making a killing farming scrolls.
