We've all seen Sirgog's wishlist every update. We are currently trying to figure out new ideas.

How about another time traveling adventure, but with an explorer area. My thoughts are Epic Gianthold, BUT, eGH is set in the period BEFORE the cataclysm, during the giants/dragons war. The goal could be to make sure the cataclysm happens as planned, including a raid at the end with a timer to set off, and then escape, the cataclysm.

Shards, seals and scrolls of the current gh loots (quest, raid and dragonscale armors) are dropped in quests.

Scrolls can drop in the explorer area where players fight dragons and giants in an expanded gianthold.

Seals for quest loot can drop from rare explorer bosses.

All shards for raid loot fall in the raid. All quest shards fall in quest chests.

It will probably be like the current Desert epics, but by making an explorer area that can drop seals shards and scrolls, it may feel less grindy.

I'll make an official forums post later today after I get home and get to my home computer :3

something like this is good because its still an epic from a non epic area (in that it allows you to obtain base gear while leveling and epic seals/shards/scrolls at endgame), but it isnt just tacking an epic selectable difficulty on quest entrances.  after running and farming all these quests leveling up, i dont want to have to farm the same quests again and again with only epic mechanics replaced.  that shit is boring.

Apparently I cannot figure out signatures.

I said as much in this thread: http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=356154&page=5; Maj came in and said no, they will respond but Mad is on vacation.

Of course, why you start threads like he did before vacation is anyone's guess ... but I'll give him his vacation time before I call him out again.

Great Idea, if only the head honchos at Turbine have the same passion as "most" of the Indie developers.
Where as it is not always about the money.

There are a lot of quests that have potential, the lore is deep.  One example that pops on my mind is the Attack on Summerfield quest.  It has a lot of potential.  But the attacking horde comes from a portal?  That's just pure shortcut in coding and/or development

Nothing in the area would be non-epic. That's the point of having epic pieces in the explorer area.

The worst part is, I'm not a dev. At all. In any sense.

I just have lots of ideas.

Nah, he's saying that it would be taking a currently extant non-epic area and then making things from it epic.  The benefit of which is that you can still spend levels 14-20 grinding for your Madstone Boots, for example, before you have to add in the seal/shard/scroll grind.

I was thinking more along the lines of an expanded, pre-cataclysm gianthold, with random roaming giants and dragons, new artwork, expanded area, new new new.

Meh. I want epic gianthold. This way I get it without it being a rehash.

Yes the gear will have to work the same way, unless you want to add premade items.

How about a remake of a classic adventure such as Expedition to the Barrier Peaks with Errol Otus narrating? Or start off the classic Giants/Drow/Queen of the Demon Web Pits series--though I don't think Loth exists in Eberron...

Dunno, I'm an old-schooler and would like to see some classics revived. Smiley

I want an Epic continuation of the story after Devils of Shavarath - if you pay close attention to the devil discussion at the beginning of part 3 ToD, you'll notice there are a couple plot hooks left dangling.

I would love if they added in some fucking werewolves and  Made that planescaler in the twelve bring us to those two dud destinations once and for fuckin all!

We need a killer update. The past 6 updates seemed like kiddy shit. Everything from the house D pack on sucked ass if you ask me.. I want something heavy and violent with monsters that actually look Somewhat intimidating. Aside from The paladin construct guys everything else in the past two years just did not have any real character to it.

Taken look like a shitty Knock off of Halo combat evolved 12 year old monsters. The dog faced guys look fuckin lame and most of the artificers enemies look like chumps!

I want something mean, Something heavy, Something that makes your fuckin skin get goosebumps. Bring on the Werewolves, Tarrask ,  baby and adult Dracolich's and maybe some Manticore's for the horror . We need some new shit in the game. The same old stuff is getting kinda old.

Either way it will probs be another shitty pack.!

Too funny and I may have to join you in the puppycide if that was the only option. I have the modules, but we never got around to playing it. Partly because our group ended up with a key player that cock-blocked us on playing a lot of fantasy games--he has more into sci-fi and contemporary--and partly because my DM turned into a huge asshole trying to run my life. Looking at the modules has me wishing I could find a DM still playing 1st Ed to give it a run. DDO would be a nice second choice.

Another one I liked was the Temple of Elemental Evil, though I know it has been done as a game before. (I had also heard it kinda sucked.) I played the 1st Ed. module--I still have it in my bookcase--and I think it would translate well to DDO. It has a simple start of helping out a small village and winds up entering a Temple with demonic gods and elemental pocket dimensions. One of the memorable traps was where my paladin was dumped into a pit where 12 giants rats appeared each round for 12 rounds. That is 144 giant rats. Sure they have low hit points and don't do a lot on their own, but 144 of the little bastards is going to do some damage. (Add to the fact that our DM jacked up anything below 1 HD to 1 HD and gave all monsters 2 extra HD of HP.) After he managed to get out, my paladin out of frustration pissed on the remaining rats. After that, my DM was always threatening to hit the character with 144 pissed on and pissed off giant rats.

One of my favorite treasures I walked away with was the Leomund's Labile Locker.

Quote:
Leomund's Labile Locker (1st Edition AD&D Module T1-4, TSR 9147, p 126)
GP Sale Value: 25,000    XP Value: 5,000

This copper-bound box is two feet wide and tall and three feet long. Invisible runes are scribed upon its front; these reveal four command words. The first shrinks the box to a twelfth of normal size, with all contents becoming minute. The weight of the shrunken chest, empty or filled, is 30 pounds. The second word causes the chest (if of normal size) to function as one upon which a Leomund's secret chest spell has been placed (but with no smaller replica necessary!) The third word  causes the  box to return to full size or normal place, as applicable. The fourth word causes growth to quadrupal dimensions, with sides, top, and bottom of one foot thickness, huge copper bands, and a weight of 1200 pounds.

In DDO this could become some sort of multi-purpose bag, or better yet, how about a remote access to your player and perhaps shared bank? In the PnP game my pally stored backup gear and supplies for the party in it. It was pretty useful at the time. If you're not familiar with the spell, it basically allows you to send a chest to a distant corner of the ethereal plane for mostly safe keeping. Normally you needed a tiny replica of said chest to recall it or send it away.

To be honest, there are a lot of classic modules that would be great to see again as long as they are treated well. Though there are certainly a few that need to stay lost.

Probably gonna get flamed for this, but I would love some sort of way to combine character sharing with other players.  One of the easiest ways I can think of is to allow "marriages" and shared banking with the toons you're married to.  Had this option in other F2P games and it worked well and made exchanging items/plat easier.  Plus I enjoy RP aspects as well and like the opportunities it provides.  However, there are a myriad of other things that I think need to be done first, i.e. finishing PrE's, etc before "fun" stuff like this was done.

From memory you can do this in Baldurs Gate 1 and 2 (well, if you beat him up in 1 and steal his stuff, he remembers that you did this in 2 and tries to get revenge)
