no summon sign? go talk to him were you saw the red dragon bridge. take a right instead of crossing the bridge

where you opened lautrec of carim take the right, you will see a hollow in a basket that has 1 humanity
go back to firelink and kill lautrec of carim for the FaP ring to give your self a buffer
bust the 1st gargoyle as much as you can then try hit and runs when the 2nd drops

Beat the fuck out of the first one til the second dropped, then let the Phantom work on him. Fire breather locks himself into Fire, so I whooped his ass while he breathed and Phantomed owned first one.
Fucking cakewalk after summoning :p
