There's two.  Normal is what everyone plays and is the difficulty these comments are coming from.  On Hard your XBox just throws itself out the nearest window.

one difficultly.
beat the game? NG+


start the game with all stats and items (lose certain quest items)

game scales up each time you do this.
10 toon slots

I can tell you the rules on co-op and pvp if you want

is this game harder than ninja gaiden (xbox version) on the hardest difficulty? because I loved that game and apparently it was one of the most difficult games ever. pretty sure it gave me carpal tunnel before guitar heroes. luckily ive had surgery done on both hands now so suck it carpal tunnel!! but i AM hearing a lot about demons and dark souls...so I may have to go buy a new xbox to check these out. sucks they arent on PC though...
