Alright, think I've got the FvS down too. This is built for maximum survivability, and should be able to pump out decent boss DPS (DP) and party healing.

20 FvS Warforged
str 14
dex 8
con 20
int 8
wis 6
cha 14

Feats: Maximize, Empower, Empower Heal, Quicken, Shield Mastery, Addy Body, Toughness. If I somehow stumble upon an extra set of eSoS ingredients, I'll LR (or maybe TR) into a more melee focused build.

Edit: Order -
1: Addy Body
3: Toughness
6: Shield Mastery
9: Maximize (for DP at level 10)
12: Empower Heal (For Heal at level 12)
15: Quicken
18: Empower.

I could swap Empower and Shield Mastery, but at lower levels that SP cost is generally just too high.

Have you used a terror yet? That will compete with esos on trash imo even in epic. Cannot crafted for bosses.

My barb tr'd to wf fvs has been fun, can't wait for 20 and the epic gear.

I've got a Terror on Jial, and it is great for trash. My only real concern is that the crit profile of a normal Greatsword sucks, hard. I could carry a Crafted Falchion, but I don't want to need to depend on someone else to cast Master's Touch on me (and I've already got a build like that).

Besides, I think I'd rather see just how durable I can make this guy. It'll be interesting when WF SD comes out to see just how high the HP/DR will go.

I think we agreed that mine was better.  The problem was the TR's to make it that great.

That was the conclusion that I came up with too.  A FvS can have good DCs after a life or two building up to that, but the DCs are just shit while you're leveling through your first life and when you're fairly new at the cap.  I've also been seriously spoiled by playing a Wizard where you pretty much hit 38 DC by accident even without picking up a single piece of significant gear.

The thing that I like about Wisdom dumped WF FvS is that you can play it just fine without any serious investment.  you just need HP and SP and a couple of clickies - kind of like playing a Wizard except that Wizards have good DCs built into the class while FvS has don't-give-a-crap-about-DCs built in to the spell selection.

Indeed. I am playing a Melee FvS after all.

I have 3 offensive spells; Searing Light, Blade Barrier, and Divine Punishment.

I use Searing Light to blow up the 3 Shroud Crystals in Part 2. I use Blade Barrier when I solo or in Cannith Challenges, and I use Divine Punishment on the Boss between ESoS swings.

Those spells suit my play style well and I don't really need high DCs.

What I really need is a high STR (40 - check), high HPs (607 unbuffed - check), high DR (15/Adamantine - check), enough spellpoints for healing (2600+ - check), and some great weapons (Terror, Min II GS, ESoS - check).

I'm good to go.

Well, I would recommend getting those TR’s done before rolling up a new character.  IME it sucks looking at those characters on your load screen.  Also, we won’t be able to do much in the way of long term planning until the devs start getting that enhancement system change on lammaland.

When was the last time you rolled up a monk?  The gear situation has gotten a lot better for monks now that we have Cannith crafting and the almighty Vampiric Stonedust Handwraps.

Stuff I’m looking forward to with the enhancement changes:

Monk 20 (Ninja-Spy/Assassin)  Just so i can go around quoting this.  I think I would name him Otto Mobeele Khar.

Monk 20 (Shintao Monk/Kensai)  I’d *really* like to be able to ditch the forced marriage to “enhanced ki” items.  (Yes, the devs are fucking morons for making that single enchantment so fucking necessary to a monk over level 10.)

Rogue 20 (Assassin/Tempest)  I can offset all the fucktard Drittz wannabes by being an Artemis Entreri wannabe.

Artificer 20 (Battle Engineer/Deepwood Sniper)  The better to annoy my guildleader with.  Grin

I love my WC bard. WF 16/2/2 bard/barb/fighter. Yes, I barb rage with him. Yes, I madstone rage with him. I love him. He's awesome. THF with feats (been flip flopping on these for a year going between the THF stuff and more HP from toughnesses)

Looking forward to making him 18/2 bard/fighter (which he originally was) and doing warchanter/stalwart with him if the enhancements pan out like they've posted. We'll see.

I want to try the Rogue 18/Monk 2 build that I saw recently just so that I can tell people that I took the two level Monk splash for Evasion.

Plus, faster attacks = more sneak attack damage, so losing that 5d6 sneak damage at least doesn't hurt *quite* as much as a splash normally would.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. Yes, I'm a terrible person for not leveling my TRs - though Flare is up to level 9, so that means he's almost half way there, right?

Right?

Anyway, I'm enjoying my new FvS (Dubbed Xenostrata the Angry Koala). 14 Strength might not do much for me at endgame, but it's enough for my shiny +2 keen icy bursted Greatsword to devastate everything in my path, and I didn't really need the points elsewhere. I think, as far as overall plan goes, I'll keep Jial at cap for a looooong time. I'll work mostly on running Flare and Xeno up to 20 (no interest in TRing the FvS, and Flare only needed the extra 2 stat points from this life anyway), then work on getting Wyl back to a Sorcerer, then TR Jial. I'll probably start on the Warchanter once I'm done with the divines, and once I'm done with Wyl the new enhancements will probably be out so I can start on the more complex/theoretical builds I've been looking at.

Edit: Also, if Arkat and Epoch could go flirt in a different thread, it would be much appreciated Tongue

Sounds like we have the same build. I recently made a Cannith Flame cloak for my WF FVS and added Flame Strike and Fire Storm to my spell list I find it does some very nice damage when augmented with cloak also the Red Dragon Docent would work well if you are already wear the blademark. Just an idea to increase versatility, I also use cometfall, sure it doesnt knock a room down like a high DC caster would but its great for crowd control via grabbing agro.

I think I've got the bard figured out.

18/2 bard/fighter Half Elf
str 18
dex 15
con 14
int 8
wis 8
cha 10

Feats: Power Attack, IC:Slash, TWF, ITWF, GTWF, OTWF (or possibly extend), Toughness, WF:Slash, EWP:Khopesh.

Now I just need to figure out the order of the feats/class levels.

Edit: will be going for rogue dil.

1 - TWF
2(Fighter) - EWP:Khopesh
3 - WF:Slash
6(Fighter) - Power Attack, Toughness
9 - ITWF
12 - IC:Slash
15 - GTWF
18 - OTWF or Extend

I assume Rogue dilly? Or are you going Pally for better saves?

I play a HoRC 16/2/2, THF. To-hit might be a problem in epics, especially when soloing. A bit better when flanking. But I still will have to use DP clickies on Turigulon or Malicia until I collect my eSoS pieces.

I would highly recommend Extend if you plan to raid a lot and play in groups. So human might be a better choice from this pov.

I think Blank already mentioned this. Going another 2 or 3 levels rogue helps. On skills (OL), on SA. Evasion adds a lot of versatility and survivability (except when you have crazy keyboard skills and can dodge spells).

With the announcement about birthday cake, I decided to fill all my slots, asap. I've also been trying to think of characters that I'd enjoy keeping, so I changed some of my original ideas.

1. 18pal/2ftr, Dwarf AC DoS
2. 20sorc WF, acid savant (I figure it's different enough from a max-DC human air savant that it'll keep things interesting)
3. 20fvs WF, max con/durability. Toughest character to kill (hopefully), especially with WF stalwart Defender coming out in the expansion.
4. 20mnk HElf, Light monk, clr dilly.
5. 20brd Hum, spellsinger. Piking can be fun, and max CC for when I'm feeling useful.
6. Still need to fill this spot. Nothing too gimp, nothing that requires excessive babysitting. Suggestions? As a rule, I don't like playing barbs, fighters, rogues, or rangers.

Edit: on second (actually, like 8th at this point) thought, I might just go with a TWF paladin. I don't have any TWF characters at the moment, and paladins are the only melee class I like playing (hopefully, this will change to include monk).

A wizard? Archmages are less cookie-cutter than pale masters and are a lot of fun to build and play. Warforged does tend to be preferred so that's a little close to the sorc, but you could do a human.

I love stalwart tanks myself, though you already have a 18/2 Defender. Sirgog's latest iron defender build is great. Zerjmoar ( http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=344637 ) is a bit more of an offbeat build that I've seen in action and looks great.

I'm not a big fan of wizards or fighters. I think I'm too spoiled with sorcerer cast speed and the Paladin self-sufficiency.

I have a TWF Dwarf, Greenis that is a 14 ranger/6 ftr tempII/kenI that is a lot of fun. I was able to fit IC Ranged in along with all the slashing feats, and stunning blow. Somewhat self sufficient, at least through Vale. He is on his second life now. He was so much fun to level I tr'd him and re-leveled the same breakout.
