Looking for quirky, odd-ball Kensei Elf Build

Only 1 hard requirement:  elf w/ scimitars.  No real reason other than I have a lot of decent scimitars rotting on mules that would be nice to use + Cove Scimi's.  36pt build, almost immediate TR at 20, have +3 tome, PLF's in cleric, monk, ranger, & +5 hearts.  I'm aware of the drawbacks in going elf, fighter, scimitar, et al.

I'd prefer to push out to Kensei III, but if someone can give me some interesting ideas I'm totally open.  No real need for traps as one of the guys I run with is doing a finesse rogue.

Please bear in mind, our silly builds and general shenanigans are contained away from the general populace as we run as a static group 3 nights a week.  So, open fire.

Elf 20 fighter with Scimmies. or 18/2 rogue/monk

Or Blitz build with scimmies.

don't know what your goals are, but the Blitz build is VERY easy to level, even solo.

No real goals honestly.  I did an off the cuff, spur of the moment HElf Arty/Ranger rogue dill this life at LITERALLY the last possible second and it has been a blast.  Couple quests I've had 100+ kills and my friends have had <10.  Even got our streak up to 106. I've really enjoyed just kinda winging it and I'm curious if anyone would help me screw up a fighter in some odd way.

So, basic level layout, an off the wall synergy, etc

Well, if you wanna do what i did for Smrti this life...

WF
1 Rogue
2-7 Barb
8 Rogue
9-20 Fighter

If you're gonna TR immediately at 20, go 1-12 fighter, 13-14 rogue 15-19 Barb

If you have some good gear and can do some AC type things (Icys, +X Armored Bracers/level, Raid Gear) I'd do a monster build with your Monk PL and go unarmed, but mix it up.

12 ftr/6 monk/2 rogue with AC focus, unarmed Kensei would be very nice, but would work with Scimmies.

So would 12 Ranger/6 fighter/2 monk, which is a build my guildie has solo'd VoD with. He's an elf with Scimmies actually.

Pfft. If you want real quirk, you'll go DEX based with a bastard sword. Haven't you heard how cool those are now?

I'd considered this since elf has an easier time with dex.  Seriously, I'm not being sarcastic.  The reality is that the qty/effectiveness of dex clickies is fairly low compared to strength.

@Blank:  I'm sans icy's and chattering so no dice on an AC build with monk.  A 4th guildy (the Euro time guy) of mine has been soloing Icy's with his Soul Survivor and landed his, so I may have him drag me along on my days off.

After reading some last night one possibility is:
- 6wiz/12barb/2mnk elf; evasion, displacement/haste, fast movement, intim & either Shield, Invis or MM for AM.
- or swap barb w/ ftr

More later!

This reminds me, what server does this guy play on? Sarlona? Orien? Ghallanda? Oooo, maybe cannith?

We cannot give build advice without server placement knowledge.

Try to solo DQ 2? I can't think of a class that can't solo it.  Even rogues do it, it is that sad of a quest.  Succeed, or be subject to random insults and mockery.

What were you reading the gimp build thread or the Necronomicon?

I love you new guy whose name I cannot recall.  I will protect you from these cruel internet bullies.  This build is fantasmal!  I give it to you so you may use it to conquer your enemies and pwn these internet bullies in game!

Elf is for pansies, their easier "dex" is a sham.  Here is what you want:

Drow
Lvl progression: 2 monk, 7 artificer, 4 monk, 7 barb.

Feats:
TWF
ITWF
GTWF
Cleave
WF Slashing
Martial weapon Longsword
Power attack
Augment Summoning
Stunning fist
Whirling steel strike
Path of Harmonius balance

This leave 1 feat.  I recommend Toughness, strongly.

Ok, now for the enhancements:

Artificer Damage Boost 2
Crossbow Attack 1
Crossbow Damage 1
Uncaring Master
Artificer Battle Engineer
Elven Dex 2
Way of the Tortoise 2
Monk Recovery 1
Adept of Rcok
Use Magic Device 2
Artificer Energy of creation 2
Artificer Int 2
Monk Wis 2
Artificer wand and scroll mastery 2
Barbarian Con 2
Barbarian Toughness 2
Racial Toughness 2
Barbarian Sprint boost 2
Extend Rage 2
Hardy Rage 2
Extra Rage 2
Power Attack 2
Power Rage 2

The build is amazing and will take you far!  I wish you the best of luck and have fun!

Assuming you have only 28 point for the drow, if a tr then 30/32 would be lots better, as always with a multiclass.

Str -16
Dex-16
Con-12
Int-16

Lvl 4 stat boost - dex
lvl 8- int
lvl 12- int
lvl 16- str
lvl 20 str

Now, FULLY geared you will be looking at stats like this:

dex 17+2 enh+7 item+2 tome+1 profane= 28
str 18+10 item+3 tome+3 profane= 34
con 12+2 enh, 7 item, 2 tome, 3 profane= 26
int 16+2 enh, 10 item, 1 profane, 3 tome= 32

When raged your str will be sitting at 42, con at 34.
If you farm madstone boots for the clicky and the proc (thens witch back to abishai boots) and titan gloves, Your str will be in the 50's!  Your con will be sitting at 40.

once i take that barb level is it ok if i talk to fred and drop martial weapon longsword for improved sunder?

looks like a solid build if i can.

second the toughness feat too.

You only need to worry about it until level 13, so I'd just drop the feat entirely and craft some +4 attack goggles to overcome the non-proficient penalty until you hit Barbarian, tbh.  Or work in one level of barb before Artificer.

With Barbarian HP, I would recommend just taking Oversized TWF instead of Toughness, since otherwise you're limiting yourself to a kama in your off-hand if you want to stay centered.

Oh man, I am so sorry.  I shouldn't post in the morning.  Yes, trade out Longsword proficiency once you take the barb level.  OHTWF is a great choice.  Once you get a few barb levels underway trade out toughness for imp sunder and use the gained HP for AP's.

If you are worried about the cost of feat trading, look me up!  I will hook you up with FREE siberys shards.

you need to read up on whirling steel strike oak, Everyone knows that even if you have the size penalty for a large off hand weapon you can stay centred with your uber longswords.

I'd highly recommend the epic sirroco and epic timeblade combination with this build.

Well, I meant if you wanted to stay centered and wield a second weapon without penalty, of course.  There's a chance that it might be worth it to just eat the penalties, of course.  I'd have to do the math and see what you're giving up when you start hitting epics.

Definitely seems like a solid build, though.

Epoch, since this was your brain child, what do you think about going for an Int build?  Since you'll have 3rd level Artificer spells, you can go ahead and eschew strength and end up with the same damage modifier by just pumping up your Intelligence and casting Insightful Damage, and you've already got natural synergy with the Drow racial +2 Int.  Plus, then you're guaranteed to be able to do epic traps on top of all of the other advantages of this build.
