Fabricators set vs epic claw set.

Getting ready to cap my pure human kensai, and I have access to both of these sets for him. Which would you choose, and why?

Also, I could probably wrangle up a full abashi set if I worked at it. Would that be better? Or a combo of fabricators or claw + 3 piece abashi? Gah I'm so conflicted!

I'd go with Claw over Fabricator's on a Kensai.  A lower to-hit character might benefit more from the bonuses the Fabricator's Set gives, but Kensai should be good.  It's +2 damage, +2 exceptional Con, 30% healing amp, and heavy fort at the loss of +2 to-hit, 10% melee alacrity (which doesn't stack with Haste), 25% exceptional fort, +5 Resistance (easily gotten elsewhere), and the Alchemical proc on the Bracers (which would be awesome if it had a higher proc rate; as is, it's not reliable enough).  The Fabricator's set is still quite good and is nice for a lower to-hit character but it doesn't beat Claw.

Don't know how Abishai fits in there, though.

I personally have gone piece abashai/claw set . The fabricators are nice but I would save them for a class that needs the +2 to hit more than the extra +2 damage from the claw set. Fabricators are the poor mans claw set on a Kensei.

I have the Fabricators on my DOS pally that's been TRed into a melee bard. I'm hoping it will still be useful once I hit 18 again...

What do the masses think is a good use for the Fabricator's set?

I wear it on my undergeared characters regardless of class for the +6 str (light encumbrance, woo) and +5 resist. Arcane, divine, melee, ranged...

I would make both, but that's just because I have trouble convincing people to cast haste.   Cry

Seriously though, claw set is more damage and amp, plus like people said kensai doesn't have to-hit issues.

Fab set does have the +25 stacking fort that could be kinda useful situationally, especially if the new monster fort reduction gets out of hand.

I use the Fabricator's set on my melee FvS, and it's been pretty awesome.  Someone mentioned the proc rate for the alchemical boost being low, but I don't see that.  It procs in damn near every fight I have that lasts more than 3 swings.

That being said, I would wear the Claw set if I had it.

I think fab set is nice till you can get your claw set "epiced" but then definitely go for claw set.

Something to wear until you get something better.  It's a place-holder for claw.

I like it for not having to chug haste pots when I'm feeling lazy and I'm in a group with no one that can cast a 2:00 or longer Haste.

On that subject, a crafted ML1 BTA Melee Alacrity trinket is the bestest thing ever. I love it so.
