I'm curious, which is it for those of you who hate it:
1. Don't screw my death spells at all. I like em.
OR
2. Then need adjusted some, but THIS isn't the way.
3: Stop being quick on the draw to nerf shit, and ass-dragging on the buffs to make them less desired.
4: More variety. srsly. Check the new content. There's not a quest there where zerging to the end and wail-spamming works that I can think of.

pretty much.
they'll come back with 'well we arent going to implement this idea into heroic levels after all. thanks for your feedback. see, we really do listen to you guys!' and BAM. everyone gets railroaded into something that almost no one but the devs want.

I do gotta admit though, now that they're actually making everyone consider the impact on their own characters, I'm getting giggles seeing how many folks saying "It's fine" immediately started screaming like a little bitch with a skinned knee.

Soloing epics is done by the 1%. You need to find an argument that includes the majority of the player base, not the outliers.

Reminds me. Should I bother pointing out that I've soloed epics on my arty, since it really doesn't need to use it's bluebar at all except once a shrine + the occasional ohshit situation, or would that just be stating the obvious?

Sigh all this to keep wizzies from fingering everything in their path? lame-o
In the first place this was bound to happen from the very begining with PM and multi-TRing, so now turbine finally sat up and took notice of all the complainers who says..fuck wait the caster in my party is killing everything and ruining my fun??
What the heck, if this wasn't WAI in the first place then why did turbine allow it, this smells of BAD design and bad decision like Obama care and now they want to rebalance it all for the entire population, what the fuck, a little to late turbine.
you gave something to the public and now you want to take it back, what about us pple who have been playing this game since the start, what then? screwed down the corner??

So you're upset and calling for a nerf because a caster helped finish off the last mob instead of standing there watching? Were you upset with any other melee that were helping you beat it down?
That's not team play; that's pettiness of the highest order. You're claiming the melees "never get a chance to do anything" and that "casters are so OP" because of stuff like that? This is why I really question whether the "OP" claim is a real issue. When we start to pick at the reasons people are saying it, it turns out to be a small minority or a perception over stuff like this that is absolutely meaningless.
No more changes to game mechanics until we have solid information about how exactly death spells are "breaking the game."
Great post grace!

I like both ideas very much, the haunting one and the hard to kill one.
I think the devs are great, and Turbine like caviar with chocolate (Caviar is good and chocolate is good, so caviar + chocolate must be great).
Maybe I stop to read what all this stuff actually means...

I think this is worse than the first version. At least it only fucked with a small part of the game.
Seems Turbine want everyone to have characters which are within 10% of the effectiveness of a brand new barely geared toon.
Don't want to disadvantage someone who only capped their first ever toon this afternoon!

That has been the recurring theme for all the new systems they introduced for the expansion

Y'know. What really gets me with all these folks bitching about the disparity, is that accounting for instas is likely the only thing keeping some of these "big numbers is best" designers from herpaderping their way to 10 times the mob hit-points we see now.
Almost tempted to just let it happen and go off to do some D3 for a few months with the occasional pop by the forums with some popcorn.

Now that I am doine bitching, can someone show me the thread that states what makes the spellpower. Like for example, combustion 7 = # spellpower.
That would be great, and I might say thanks.

Here's the latest crap from the last round of release notes.
http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=376774
Quote:
Spell Power
The spell damage amplification system (including bonuses from items and enhancements) now uses a Spell Power rating to determine how much damage you deal with spells. In most cases, each point of Spell Power increases the base damage of your spell by 1%. (For example, casting a spell with 100 Spell Power will result in double damage.)
Unlike the old damage amplification effects, Spell Power is not restricted by spell level, and bonuses to Spell Power of different types stack, following standard D&D stacking rules. (An Enhancement bonus and an Alchemical bonus will stack, but only the greater of two Enhancement bonuses will apply.) The bonus damage from Spell Power is not multiplied by metamagics such as Empower Spell or Maximize Spell.
Items and enhancements that granted damage amplification to specific damage types will now provide a bonus to Spell Power with spells of that damage type. (For example, an old Combustion V item that used to grant +20% damage to level V or lower Fire spells will now grant a +48 Equipment bonus to Spell Power when casting any Fire spell.) Potency effects grant Spell Power with any spell, as expected, but generally have lower values than specific effects.
Sources of Spell Power include:
Enhancements:
Enhancements such as Flame Manipulation or Pale Master now grant Spell Power to the appropriate spells equal to twice their old percentage values.
Items:
Items with old permanent damage amplification effects now grant an Equipment bonus to Spell Power.
Any weapon that has a Spell Power bonus also grants an Implement bonus equal to 3 times the enchantment bonus of the weapon. A +5 weapon will therefore grant a +15 Implement bonus to Spell Power with all spells. Any effect that increases the enchantment bonus of the weapon (such as an Artificer’s Enchant Weapon) will also increase the Implement bonus.
Any item with old temporary damage amplification effects now grant an Alchemical bonus to Spell Power when used (an Inferno item will now stack with a Combustion item).
The Xachosian Eardweller now grants a +25 Psionic bonus to Spell Power with all spells (it now stacks with all other effects instead of temporarily replacing them).
