On criticals, it adds 2-12 untyped damage. so 25% of the time (15-20 on this khopesh), you are doing 2-12 extra damage ON TOP OF the increased base damage.

Like I said, the increased damage is quite noticeable.

eta: Most people compare everything to Lit2 for trash beating because for a long time, notyhing at end game except Lailat resisted Electric, and her DR, even on Epic, is pitiful. The fact is, most Demons we're facing are resistant or even immune to lightning. Hell, even Tieflings are resistant. Maiming is untyped, like Blade Barrier. Only straight-up Physical Resistance stops it, which is usually only on constructs and undead.

And just wait til we finally get to go to the other side of Shavarath, which is inhabited by Archons. Holy Burst may lose it's sting over there by a good bit, and we'll be scrambling to craft unholy burst items instead.

right now, if it weren't for Lit2's existence, and we had to craft our trash beaters, the fact is that most people would say fuck it and roll a caster, or they'd make Holy/unholy burst or Maiming as a general beater, but have a million other weapons for each subtype of trash.

until you encounter a mob with ANY DR at all, and this is with a pretty high damage bonus so rogues, bards, rangers (non favored-enemies) should stick with lightning IIs.

Assuming 9 points/swing for a lightning Strike the Drow Khopeshes over-take Lightning IIs when the damage bonus gets to about a 55.  This is not taking into account Human Versatility Damage Boost which pushes the Drow weapons ahead at a lower threshold.   The weapons are situational.

That said I'm farming this for all my melees.

Still, the best trash-melee weapons I've seen are the Triple Earth Alchemicals though they kinda get shitty in epic elites where everything starts making their saves.

Have you seen the drop-rate on the Drow weapons?  And that effect is radom, some are stunning, some are tendon slice, the one I do have has some random effect that's bordeline useless.

Pulling a stunning 10 Maiming Drow Khopesh is akin to winning the lottery.

As good as alchemicals are, these Drow khopesh are THE shit. Even on DR mobs, my first number is a good 10-20 points higher.

A guildy of mine has already claimed It's the closest thing twf will get to the esos.
