Bug fixes don't earn them money.  If it did, this game would be squeaky clean.  They spend their time making cosmetic pets and shit for their corporate overlords instead of making a fun game. 

I would be embarrassed to work for a company like turbine, but I understand why the employees tolerate it.  They get a paycheck; integrity is for the poor.
