With the EDs it may not be so hawt anymore. The big thing with the blitz build is the PL Pal/Barb and I think you would rather quit drinking than grind out PL. You can do THF with it, but you might consider skipping the rogue levels, since there is some synergy with upping dex for twf and evasion. Though the UMD would still be useful. I am drinking so the previous statements may not make sense. Its not like I really care. You can all suck it.

Go Human or HElf if you go for TWF. Damage 4 + Haste 4 is better than anything else ever. Seriously.

The draw of HOrc comes from getting more STR for better combat DCs, but with EDs and the like, it isn't so hard anymore. Hell, they put Stunning 10 on the best overall trash 1H weapon in the game (Drow Pesh).

I like it still. with the change to Uncanny Dodge, it becomes WAY more fun than it should be, in theory.

You can do it as THF, but it is a different build that way, not surprisingly. It still works though. Monkey Archer on the main forums designed it before Nick made the Blitz, and he references it as well.

Did a H-Orc blitz on my previous life.
Went TWF till cap with deathnips (fun times) and switched to THF with esos at 20. Still huge DPS, tons of boosts.
It still is a very solid build, fun and its biggest asset over some melee builds is the UMD. Around 40 UMD at cap.

Keep in mind two things, if you want THF go horc but if you want TWF, you have the choice btw human, helf and horc. Each with diff. benefits. Keep the same split unless you want more diversity : ex: 12fighter/6ranger/2barb for ranged or 12fighter/6ranger/2monk for ranged/unarmed or 12fighter/6ranger/2rogue for THF/ranged/UMD. Gl with it.

But the build I had the most fun with (not unarmed) is a helf 12 fighter 6 ranger 2 barb. Freakin' huge DPS (TWF drow khop with slaying arrows - Bursted all the time). Check out aygo on khyber if that build interests you.

I was under the impression that the power from the Blitz build came from the broken past life doubling rage duration? I wasn't aware it was still the sorta build you wanted to run with now that it was nerfed significantly. In fact it seems like you would get more out of nearly every other melee build.

I have a few pretty cool blitz builds.  They kick ass.

Level 20 fvs.
Level 20 sorc.
Level 20 wizard.


Those are my 3 favorite blitz builds.

Ok after looking into it further it appears to be that the blitz build may be a thing of the past. Is this a clear cut case or is it up for debate with some minor changes.

It still is a good build. Build wise, it all comes down to what you want. TWF, THF, with UMD? AA burst? HW use? traps?

Best way to find a fitting build is explain what you want to do with it, then we can give you some ideas.

But even stainer has a horc blitz, so it can't be that bad.

4 min+ of rage with 4 uses is fucking plenty. You only needed it for boss battle anyhow.

Soul is a retard who probably couldn't play this game without a host of guilidies or playing a caster, so I wouldn't listen to anything he says really.

Also, the Uncanny Dodge change did nothing but buff the fuck out of Blitz's, since they were about DPS AND tactics with high STR. Now I have maxed dodge for a while too?

The only thing I'd say it lacks (and it is true for almost any non-monk melee) is that it lacks a decent will save, so bring FOM boots, Prot Evil pots, and hope to god you don't run into a dance ball. Notice I don't include Pallys with monks because Pallys are shit.
