Anyone else notice this? It seems like 1 out of 5 threads posted now are about how people are quitting the game. Kind of ironic since I just started playing again.

Nobody cares if you just started playing again, you quit and come back every fucking month.

Why do people bother sending quit threads... it isn't as if it matters

U14 caused a number of guild friends to leave the game as did their wanting to prepare for GW2.  U14 brought some new life to the game with the new content.  I enjoyed all of U14 except for the 2 heroic quests in FR.

Then I TR'd because I didn't want a stone and the 35% xp weekend to go to waste.  I've spent the last couple of weeks running him with very little pugging going on.  Lvls 16 to 18 flew by as I ran through the stuff I stoned over.  Now I'm in the desert of xp that is 18 to 20.  Pugging again and encountering the newbs that stoned to 16 and the fails that are their builds.

I've been looking at playing my other games outside of DDO now.  TF2 now has Mann v Machine mode and been playing that a lot.  I no longer look forward to playing DDO, it's now just one of the games I play instead of the only game I play.

All but one of the people that have left did so without any sort of "notice" on the forums, they just left quietly.  The one that didn't go quietly has grumbled about the state of the game but didn't start a thread saying he was going.

Really ?? You think 18 - 20 is a desert for xp ? I run Vale/Refuge/Iq if necessary and im usually capped before I actually run everything that I could of , maybe you don't like to farm but I do especially in monastery and kobold that's a huge chunk of xp right there.....

You can get fucked though if you didn't save things, and some people don't like farming easy content that's two levels below them.  In terms of ACTUAL level 18-20 content, he's right, there's very little.  I cap almost every life in reavers refuge and think it's pretty sad that I hit 20 in a level 17 quest.

Used to be if you planned even moderately well you could get your last level just by pissing around and raiding/flagging with your guild.  Shroud and ToD both gave decent XP and there were usually people wanting to flag for ToD and Cannith.  But now that everybody's level 25 running epics you can't count on that anymore, and it's like pulling teeth to get anybody together to run level 20 challenges.

Easy one. So you can get their stuff if you're on the correct server.

Well personally; I quit playing DDO right after the Dev team told the FvS class to "spead their legs, bend over, grab their ankles and think of England" while recieving the buggering of their lives by some pissed off Devs as some petty payback for showing what a craptacular job they did on their much-hyped new pack.

I was interested enough to at least read the forums when they announced Underdark/druids; but seeing that they seemed to have now turned DDO into a Monty Haul epic-item lootfest with their epic destinies; I can safely say the minor temptation to return is pretty much gone.

I never made a long "I quit" post, full of breast-beating and cloth-rending, and all the other things one is apperently supposed to do whenever they quit a game. I just said to myself "You know; this isn't fun anymore" and found another MMORPG to spend my money on.

I suppose a forum full of "I had enough of your crap; I quit" posts could be taken as a sign that players/customers are quite unhappy with the direction that the game is going, reguardless of their actually quitting the game or not.

Unfortunately, in this case, the effectiveness of this strategy is nulled by two things A) Turbine generally does not give a crap what the player/customer wants; and B) Devs have their heads embedded so far up their own asses that they cannot possibly accept/comprehend that any change(s) that they make are anything less then the result of divine inspiration, and that complainers are nothing more then just players who cannot possibly comprehend the majesty and wonder of their grand visions.

Regardless; as I no longer have any vested interest in DDO anymore; it will be at least minorly interesting to see where all these "I quit" posts takes Turbine.
