I love it when fans make things. Mostly because of the love they put into their work. Partly because they give it away for free.

Downloading it now. The mod was a directionless mess for a long time as I understood it from people who worked on this project and mods I was involved in years ago. So I am wary personally... Half-Life is on a short list of essentially perfect games even if they did do the work for free I would still be quite angry if they raped a classic.

Well I never played the original Half Life. I only played Half Life 2 and the chapters I got in the orange box. (best damn game box I ever bought.) So you will have to let me know if they raped it.

They missed some things and changed some stuff likely due to it being their "artistic interpretation" but so far so good and I am about as jaded as they come for this shit I was expecting a total god damn disaster.

And if you haven't played the original half-life it is never to late its one of those games that aged very well especially if you enable the HD model pack on steam. Also Opposing Force is just as good as half-life you can skip blue shift and decay and be alright though.

It's a lot harder then Half Life 2 was at some points. At least I am pretty sure that the head crabs didn't jump around so much.

Aaaaand I broke it. I just reached the end of the tram, right after you get the shotgun. And when i start to go into the next area the screen goes pitch black. I think I'm missing a graphics file. Same thing happens every time I get hurt, screen goes pitch black. So I'm pretty much blind any time I'm getting shot at with rapid fire weapons.

I just got the damn shotgun too!

Downloaded the original now. Now I hope my computer can play a game that old with out freezing up.  Roll Eyes

Thought it was really well done - I played through most of it right before BL2 came out, and wasn't disappointed. Definitely worth a download if you are into the whole Half-Life universe and only played the original Half-Life on a PS2 way back when Wink

Just started playing Black Mesa and I'm at the dreaded elevator shaft jumping sequence.  Oh the horrors of the Ctl Shift Space.

Just past the dam an now encountering the minefields.  I am so impressed with the amount of detail the devs put into this.
