...as I'd been led to believe.

I haven't seen any of the dumb pvp chatter in the harbor as of yet nor crazy political rants that seem sort of common on Thelanis. It could be the sample size.

I haven't pugged anything yet as I'm still working on the basic skill gear, so maybe I'll see drama there?

It is nice not to have to spend lots of time inventory managing or feeding multiple alts.

So, anyway, your server is nice so far.

Welcome!

toon name? I'll throw ya some crap if I see ya on.

Also, I don't watch general too closely, but I've never seen much any political stuff there. Might exist. I just never saw it yo. I have seen some PVP stuff sometimes. But nothing too big.

I'm on Diogenesis there, but I'm good on stuff. Grace was kind enough to throw some +5 tools at me.

Starting at 7 saw me to 8 before I've done more than a few lvl 4 quests.

It is kinda nice not having to juggle all the twink accessories I'm accustomed to, like abashi sets, cove stuff, the BtA crafted utility items, etc.

I'm on a WF 2 monk/6 arti so self-sufficiency is built-in. I could have had held lvl 8 and squeezed more xp out of the lower levels, but on a first life toon there's no point. I might see how useful it might be to farm that corsair's set from 3BC, kinda looks annoying, though. If that 1st defend quest generates the set items on end reward that might be the fastest way.

If you have a lowbie around I might be clearing the rest of the marketplace quests this evening.

I don't pvp in DDO. If I wanted that I'd reactivate my DAoC account or try a game designed for it.

I'm in a "midlives crisis" on Thelanis myself, a 5th life slump that I'll get back to when it sounds like it'll be fun again, working that toon through 3 ranger lives and maybe 3 rogue lives after that towards an artificer-based completionist or at least multi-life toon...not sure I want to do a druid life.

That's what +5 hearts of wood are for.

I'd do a 2 Monk/13 Arti to level 15.  Then take Druid levels.  By holding a level you get to cap as a 2 Monk/13 Arti/3 Druid.  Take the last two druid levels when you cap, then immediately do a +5 LR to become 2 Monk/8 Arti/10 Druid.  Then immediately TR.  No wolf/bear form stupidity and you get a druid PL.

Maybe they've all moved to Argo?

Someone asked a question about which crafted shard would be better for a pure fighter in advice chat.   Attack, melee alacrity, or +2 saves.

The response that made me start twitching last night was the person who started spouting off about:

"Don't ever take haste boost on a fighter.  I've ran two fighters to cap, and haste boost doesn't even stack with haste."

And that "haste boost takes up the same timer as damage boost, so they should just always go with damage boost instead"

I'm almost sprained something not telling them what I though of them and their "advice".

You make a very good point. I could see spending the TP for 1 life like that. Hell if I can justify spending the money to myself doing all future lives like that.

On Khyber last night someone asked what feat they should take at lvl 8 on a fighter. 3 answers of "improved crit" and a response of "thanks".

Druid is a ridiculously fun class to level. First 6 levels are a bit slow - well, as slow as a self healing melee can be - but once you get Reaving Roar the game becomes a real joke. I never slowed down as little for elites as what I did on that Druid life.

Other easy tactics are sleet storm+freedom of movement (hilar!) and if you're going really slow you can do the old firewall or ice storm business.

Yeah.  On paper they should be great.  I'm just not a fan, for whatever reason.  Sorcs are that way for me too.  Nothing wrong with the class, just Wizards are more fun, imo.  When I TR there are maybe 4 classes I can stand for 4.4 million XP.  Rogues, Rangers, Pallys, Barbs, Druids, Artis, Bards, Sorcs are not it.  I run all my TR's as a Wiz, FvS, Cleric, or Monk in some multi-class splash and then LR/TR when done.

I'll level anything for 2 million XP.  but the extra 2.5 million on a double TR just breaks me.  They invariably get stranded around level 16 with massive burn out.

Are you doing a caster druid or a melee?  I havn't tried one yet and I'm looking for something fun and easy.

Your Sorc is a Demigod.  Mine is about as impressive as Demi Lovato.

In all serioiusness, though, FvS are the greatest class in DDO.  With a monk splash.  (Threw that part in for Arkat).

I dislike my fvs atm. I don't want to be bothered with pushing buttons to heal myself.

I like my clonk with 1 wiz level. Same BB dmg as a fvs, set and forget aura + heal amp+ full twf line + stunning fist = I can beat things to death and not even think about healing myself.

kthx bai.

I do like my sorc tho...

How long do you spend reaching mid level?  That is 20% of your leveling time (if that) and, assuming you stay at cap for a while, single digits on the life of the character.
