Occasionally they reintroduce this bug. If you complain about it they go through these steps:

1) Denial - They tell you they can't reproduce it. They tell you it isn't real.

2) Anger - They tell you that are are to fucking stupid to walk 15 feet without tripping and killing yourself. They also close the ticket, or if on the forums, infract you for complaining.

3) Bargaining - They give everyone a +2 loot weekend, or if they significantly fucked up, they give you a 31% xp bonus.

4) Depression - Ranges from "Why does our code suck so bad?" to "OMG, I work for Turbine." Another sadness for them is the players are generally right, and players don't forget these things.

5) Acceptance - This takes several months. When they reach this stage they will silently release the fix in an update. Unfortunately they will break something else in the same update, and thus the cycle begins anew.

I am waiting for a plane @ RDU, and I still have a hour before boarding. If you have anymore questions, I will try to answer them.

If you hit a bit of lag at the right time, bouncing off a wall/object while jumping can still kill you. This has been the case since the physics update 9 months ago.

I guess I'd just been lucky before that.

I got pushed up into the air by being surrounded by mobs, apparently, then died. I should kite more. It was my fault. Parents blamed.

Meanwhile I made bacon instead of going back.

Ah, yes.  Old bugs never die.  This used to be one of my favorite ways to die.

The good news is, currently falling damage is still capped at about 85-90 points or so, instead of the 3-14k that it used to do(with the falling bug).  So a few more levels, and it'll be back to an irritation instead of a character killer.

It's not capped bouncing off walls, unless they fixed that - I guess I haven't seen anyone complain about it in the last couple months. I've taken 1900 pts bouncing off walls.

Guild wars 2 has the same falling bug, pretty funny.

I think it has to do with hitting multiple floors in quick succession.

E.g, when you fall, hit a floor and bounce and hit another floor in a slightly different plane.  Easy to reproduce in DTOV.

What???? I was told GW2 is perfect and bug free. Now I feel betrayed.

New to Khyber.

That's probably part of why I hadn't hit that bug before, though, good point.

Thanks for the offer!

The Sharn Syndicate was kind enough to ... loan me ... a BtA pair this morning.
