It a quiver that was brought over from Europe. Codemasters used to give out really cool prizes to their players there. Or, if you read some of the old threads about that quiver in particular, give out prizes to their friends among the players.

Unless the people who received them destroyed them they are still in existence. I have a umd sceptre that doesnt drop anywhere because I got it as prize from a dev contest.  There are a few other items out there that are the same Tuurcvals (spelling is wrong) Kukri is one like it.

It was actually quite good when it first appeared since those weapons were super rare.

Not really... but CM had a great team of GMs ( they came from Alchemical Dream ) and Community representative that took the welfare of the game to heart, and when you told them that you wanted to make a server wide event they gave you the means to make real server wide events, and helped you getting it done.

That's how our guild managed to make two auction events ( of rare items at that time )... We did collect most of the items, a few ( 1 or 2 not sure ) were given to us, for auction, by the GMs.
GMs and Community Rep were present at the auctions.
In one instance they also piled up their own even on top of our auction ( with our help and agreement ) that was a prelude to the blowing of the Marketplace tent.

During one of these events all the persons from my guild attending got given by the GMs a special robe at our guild color [ it took them about an hour with our guild leader to get the colors right ].
The robe had absolutely no power at all, except that it was at the guild color.

Now, it's partially true that towards the end CM had a list of players that received a prefered treatment, and that when these players made an event, there was more items given out than was necessary... That's why some of us ended up with a few spare +4 unbound tomes when it was not possible to find an unbound one.

Yes my avatar is an Hermine eating a Greenland Lemming for brunch.
