Yeah I know its stupid to argue with idiots on that board but since when they change over our log in names to our forum names I won't be posting on the boards anymore I am going to speak my mind as much as possible starting with idiots who keep trying to tell other players how to play the fucking game.

Im not saying this to be a snob, I am saying this because not one of those mother fuckers pay any of my fucking bills or gaming subs. I am not a bot, not tied to any particular role and run with people who are cool enough not to fucking need me to watch them like a babysitter.

Those who cannot whine on the damned boards about not being able to find groups..gee I wonder why? And fucking want to kick so many of those anti byoh types right in their balls with some steel toed boots. Specially since all those fucktards go on about the groups and have never fucking been in one...x_x

yes I will not be logging into the offalish forums anymore after the change. as a good-bye present I have been randomly selecting 3 people a day and spreading the love via the soon to be defunct neg rep system.

as for how to play your cleric, here's how go with the crapshoot method of play. turn off quicken and wade into the middle of the melee and see if you can get any hjeals off. makes it exciting.

I think my main peeve is that the Turbine mods aren't really doing their jobs. They can set the tone of the discussion in terms of how people are allowed to express their thoughts, via infractions and removing posting privileges. Yet most of the forums is players belittling other players without actually contributing anything intelligent.

I think players discussing how they should play is fine. Some of it might even be helpful. Realistically though every time these things are discussed, it devolves to players calling each other names and how the other person is responsible for the decline of the game / players not happy / global warming or whatever. This type of stuff is directly within Turbine's power to correct, but they never do.

Quite often said players will even basically admit they have no idea what they're talking about yet they're giving their (ignorant) opinion on things, like that guy that says he's never stepped in FoT but readily says EE FoT guys are exploiting.

Exactly, just in my thread alone the whole Jerk thing was thrown around so much.

so because I choose a different play style then their "Team work" B.S. I'm a jerk.

When I counter them with contrary legitimate stuff I get "well you are still not doing it right."

When several people tell them this is not the way it is and they still scream like a jackass it really makes me want to shake them. Its going to be really bad with the forum changes because the idiots who think they are always right will be dominant on the boards whining about how groups take too long to form, complaining about someones build not doing what they want.

Thank god for the Vault, I can handle the retards here because at least here you can call them that.

Thinking about it Big but im really getting burned out of those boards, it be different if they gave us the freedom to truly speak our minds.

But too many who cannot handle criticism would get butt hurt and whine.

Every time I see an Exploit post, or Nerf post or "Player isn't doing what I want them to" thread it makes me realize I just don't have it in me to go another 6 years there. This upcoming change is just the kick in the ass I need to avoid that place.

The people mad about the BYOH groups are just jelly.

Not all.. (in fact most) builds work as BYOH - not because it can't - but because you have to start thinking about that kind of play from your first skill choice.

Gear can also make a huge difference, really the problem is a new person can't expect to run a quest in the same league as someone who knows wtf they are doing - it's that simple.

And I understand that but new players should not be taught by forum idiots that they can never be self sufficient.

According to them the very thought goes against the "Team work spirit"

and that a team of self sufficient types who get things done (better and quicker in my experience) are just selfish people who should solo only.

There are very few awesome clerics/divines in game and even less posting with common sense on ddo forums.
Many just don't give a shit anymore so all you got is crap in thread after thread from newbs or retarded "vets".
6 year vets with 3 k myddo entries. Without any greensteel or raid gear.
Everybody is fucking resident cleric expert.

Im not an expert I am still learning much about all the classes, but I do have experience, and my ddo lol it hasn't updated my cleric in years doesn't list her epic gear or her greensteels or the fact that she is no longer 20

Thing is its fine people want to be know it alls, but back that shit up. I put my alts up for all to see in that thread, I have played every class in this game, every race to though I prefer elves and have deleted my halflings since I don't find that race appealing right now.

Its really about absolutist who accuse anyone of playing differently of being bad players they wouldnt know a good player if they were hit over the head with them.

The problem is that there are two basic Arch-types of BYOH.

The "Your on your own" and the "We all are responsible to help each other in a jam"

Many of the Anti-BYOH crowd have run into the "Your on your own" sprinkled with "You noob you cost me 10% xp, where is that pit of lava to drop your stone into"

How you get treated taints how you feel about things.

A good BYOH group has cooperation and teamwork at its core, what it doesn't have is drama over "Why you no hjeal me I'm down 10% of my HP" and people generally go to the "Highest and Best Use" for completion.

Teamwork is not the opposite of BYOH, it is a core part of it where every party member is responsible to make sure everyone gets to the end of a quest.  Party members that only look out for themselves no matter how UBER they are, are why so many anti-BYOH people exist.

Thank you Enoach and seriously I even said that to some of them they take a bad experience and make it as the only way the group ever functions. I even told the story about how I hated monks due to a bad experience till I played one and opened my eyes. Yet oh no you can't tell those asses that Byoh is evil to them no matter what. Fucking idiots.

When I played - and more importantly, when I pugged - my version of BYOH was more like "ok, we're running this a couple levels above us and are prolly gonna die a lot.  the cleric is navel gazing because it's his first cleric... don't expect any of us to be competent."  Cheesy

I don't understand why BYOH is such a big deal.

Healing options by Class:

Pally:  LoH.  Healing Amp.  Decent defense.  SF Pots.
Fighter/Barb/Ranger: SF Pots
Rogue: UMD Heal Scrolls
FvS/Cleric: Duh.
WF Caster: Duh.
Artificer: Duh.
Bard: Duh.
Monk: Ki healing, amp, decent defense. Pots.
Non WF Caster: Either Pale Master or UMD Capable.

Unless you are trying to be a unsurvivable mana sponge, it's really not an issue.  All of this does not even consider the ability to use Twist of Fate to add some self healing ability to any toon.

There is some 6 man EE content where that's not true, nor would I run EH FoT or EH CiTW without one traditional healer, but outside of that, a dedicated healer in a party a luxury.  A great healer will keep you all healed and be imploding, destructing, comet falling, DoTing, and generally causing mayhem while making sure no one costs the group 10%.
