Well at least now we know what is causing the Server lag, it's all the kobolds...

It has to be a conspiracy of the QA Kobolds ( MajMal, Sqweak, Kookie, ...) to take over Turbine.  Cheesy

I've only had one instance since they closed it, but when I did it was just as crippling. Guessing they are closing that quest to test, but there could be others that cause the problem as well.

Idle speculation, but the kobolds spawn away from the box so they need to know where to find it.  The box reports its location to them repeatedly and when they get in range tells them to aggro on it as opposed to the players, which would be normal behavior. Kobold Island, Dryad Grove and Sunset Ritual challenges could do something similar. End fight in Prey on the Hunter too? With the frequency those quests are run vs Baudry, that could explain the significant reduction in lag since they took it down.
