Looking for a build for my last fighter life

Current life is going to end as 9 monk/9 fighter/2 arti. Took the arti right off the bat, took 1 fighter at 6 to get Whirlwind, and then went straight to 9 monk for ToD at 11. Took the second arti level at 17 to fill out skill points and give a bit more oomph to wands/scrolls.

I like the build, it levels decently fast thanks to 15% faster movement, traps for the xp bonus when applicable, and Touch of Death to give the quick-kill ability on most quest bosses. I've got decent gear as well for monk-based stuff but I end up using vampiric stonedust handwraps + quicksilver cassock slotted with saves most of the time just because I can't be bothered to swap weapons most of the time.

What I'm wondering is if anyone has any nice leveling builds that would speed up leveling a bit for the next life. I'm wanting to get these fighter lives done so I can find something to have fun with at cap for awhile before the Enhancement pass hits so I don't want to screw around on this next life.

Don't want to use any hearts so it has to get to the fighter PL naturally. I do have access to dual Deathnips if that makes sense as well, though I'm not sure whether I want to use the tomes on this toon or to allow my caster toon to cheese through some arti pl's. This toon will have 1 monk pl and 2 fighter pl's so far and only relevant gear is monk/handwrap-focused.

I'm not against the same build again by the way. Just looking for something that might get the job done faster or be more entertaining. Smiley

9druid/9fighter/2rogue or monk. Go half elf, pick up monk dilly, and try sustain good healing amp.

leveling order, (monk): 1 monk, 2 druid, 1fighter, 8 druid, 1monk, 8fighter.

(rogue): 1rogue, 9druid, 1rogue, 9fighter.

make sure you pick up both cleaves asap, and qualify for reaving roar as quickly as possible. You'll have great aoe damage, and good self healing.

You'll primarily be in winter wolf form from 9onwards, so bare in mind you'll be picking up 3 natural fighting feats in a row.

also remember fom + sleet storm = sneak attacks, then  + ice storm to add damage.

Make sure to find some sun flasks too.

Other builds I'd thought of was a WF'd 9 arti/9 fighter/2 ranger. Didn't play with the feats but maybe squeeze in Manyshot. Then there's just going straight-up half-elf monkcher but do it with 6 ranger and 6 monk both to easily do manyshot + 10k stars.

they're fine for single target dps, but for Fast TR's it's about how fast you can deal with groups of mobs.

Those splits have terrible AOE damage, which will slow you down. If you really want manyshot, giving up evasion and going 2 ranger would actually be a pretty good split too.

Personally I prefer the sneak attack, or quick recalling from rogue or monk, single target dps is pretty good by 9th druid level so long as you augment melee with spells.

Yeah, really is about the mass damage. I've been getting it this life from whirlwind but I'd imagine between druid spells and both cleaves that druid build would be far more effective at mass damage. I should have pretty much everything I need gear-wise as well so should be easy to start up.

Now just need to cap this one Tongue

So if I'm understanding correctly the TWF line doesn't stack with druid forms. So our feats we want are PA, Toughness, Natural Fighting x 3, WF/WSpec/ImpCrit Bludgeoning, Cleave, and Great Cleave. I was leaning monk at first but it looks like we don't need that many feats to make this work well. Is that accurate?

I'd also read that the shield feats work...seems like tossing on a wooden tower shield with nice stats would be highly effective for the extra PRR and boost to double-strike but not sure if the info I found was accurate.

you're reading correctly.

rather than going kensai and getting weapon spec, i pick up quicken and maximise.

stalwart 1 > kensai 1 for this.

I normally go monk and stay centered, picking up the feats (dodge [pre req for stalwart] and stunning fist) and wear the jidz tet ka + fire till i get leviks.

It's probably worth pointing out, i always wear the following gear:

Blue dragon robe
torc
sp cha skills boots.
hp con op goggles.
minos

I honestly don't know how well it would do without all of the above, but none of that list is hard to acquire.

I also make good use of

encrusted set.
jidz tet then leviks.
heal amp DT robes
tharaak wraps.
vampiric wraps.

Yeah, I wondered where you were picking up the potency/lores. Blue dragon makes a lot of sense. Where do you slot it though once you go into the DT robes?

I'm gonna have to get farming for the torc or else farm a lot of shroud. I could see going without the torc or the hp con-opp goggles but not both. Right now I have earthgrab hp boots, sp cha air guard cloak, and Tharne's goggles. Remaking the boots as con-opp would work but is kind of expensive for a melee-focused toon. Landing the Torc would definitely solve that. Smiley

If you don't have the mats to make a new GS item or a torc, you'll probably spend more time farming them than you would just TR'ing and playing a little more conservatively.

forget the heal amp DT robes, they were an old copy paste left over from an old build template.

Ahh, got ya. I've got the DT already but haven't used them this life either because I've grown to enjoy the frozen tunic. Actually wondering a bit about using that over the blue dragon as well. Would work well with ice/sleet storm but would still have to slot stuff for wall of fire and heals.

Does the proc from the tunic work the same with wolf form attacks as it does with hand-to-hand?

You could wear Mindfury Symbiote for lore and get your XP from Mantle, but that would mean losing Ghostly on cloak. I wouldn't do it. You may be fine with the cold boost from frozen tunic alone, I dunno druids.

Seems like something like this might be easier for monk pl's too - would a 9 monk/9 druid/2 fighter platform work as well for zerging the pl's? Not completely sure I'm going to bother w/ the monk pl's but if this one goes quickly might be fun.

i've started doing 7 or 9 druid for all my non pally melee past lives.

Thus the robes + con op gear.

Yeah, it's a nice platform on which you can frontload the druid and evasion and backload the melee lives. And since druids the newest class 9 druid always works with 9 x for the pl. Smiley

Ok, took at look at the monk version in the builder. It looks like Fighter1 is better put off for level 6 since you can take GCleave for the first time then (1 monk = 0 BAB, 4 druid = 3 BAB, 1 Fighter = 1 BAB for a total of 4). The feats are a lot tighter than I'd expected - especially the level-based feats since we're backloading the Natural Fighting feats and we have to fit Quicken/Maximize on to level-based feats as well.

I love having the dual stuns - they've been outstanding on my current 9 monk/9 fighter/2 arti life - but I don't sweat fitting those in until later. I could even see swapping the level 13 and 15 feats to get Stunning Blow at 13 and holding off on the Improved Crit...my only hesitation is that the crit profile for Winter Wolf is actually decent so it might be worth taking that feat first.

Not sure which skills make sense. With only 2 monk levels not sure how much value the ki has - ain't nobody got time for t1 strike spamming. Given that I doubt I'd be scroll-healing often if at all that seems to make concentration less important. UMD's iffy on value - I love it but I don't love all the items swaps that go into it. If I'm not mistaken Bluff is really good on this character because some of the wolf attacks trigger a bluff check. What skills are important here?

Other than that just look it over and let me know if it makes sense. Seems to get all the nice toys right around the right time. Both stuns by 15, possibly 13...one stun at 12 right when the vampiric stonedust are available, GClv at the lowest possible level, Max/Quicken fit in the only place they can, etc.

One other thing...if I do remake a con-opp hp item does it make more sense to give up Tharne's goggles and slot the GS there or to keep with the boot slot?

Looks mostly solid.

Personally I think you'll get more mileage from wisdom than str : more sp, better spell dc's and I prefer stunning fist to stunning blow.

My stat layout is normally 16/11/16/8/17/8, (all with +3, 4 or 5 tomes)  I put level ups in wisdom too.  I'm a little out of touch with normal people though, when I started using this template I already had 3: barb, pally, fighter, monk lives.

The true Seeing + sneak attack from tharnes is a good mix, I'd probably go cloak in your shoes.

Cloak is Ghostly (unless HE Ring of Shadows has Ghostly and you have one, I've never even seen one and it's not even on the wiki). I would absolutely not give up cloak, Ghostly is straight up nuts.

I would, self healing is good enough, who cares.

Whatever you have in boots, gloves, etc is almost certainly worse than 10% incorporeal.
