Saw this game mentioned in the comments section of a Cracked article, and it sounded pretty damn cool. It is 75% off too, so I went ahead and got it.

I played until 3am last night.

Stardock, Paradox , Disciples, Crusader Kings, Dominions 3, Victoria, Hearts of Iron, Ascendance, Master of Orion, Space empires 4, Gal Civ etc  is the best shit in the pc games history ever, surprised you found it just now, not everybody's cup of tea though.

Nothing like red eyed zombie in school/work after playing all night.

My challenge has been to start as one of the counts in Wales and eventually take over england...

Unfortunately england is one tough nut... even waiting till its fragmented into 5 or 6 pieces with a succession crisis going on.

Its fun though.

I keep getting fucked over. I'll marry my kids off and when I die suddenly, my "home" territory is somewhere drastically different (sometimes across the map) because of succession and then I've got 2 wars going on. Then I get beaten back down and retreat to almost my original position.

It's probably just because I'm bad at the game.

Try not to marry your sons into matrilineal marriages.

The best succession is the one where your oldest son inherits all your titles, Primogeniture Gavelkind (I think)... so you'll want to get to that as soon as ya can.

I usually marry my heir off to someone with really good stats and use my other children to secure alliances.

Oh and always kill any uppity family members. Cheesy

I'm not even sure if that's what it was, or if I inherited it on my first guy from some aunt or something.

I kind of felt bad about killing my family until I was the last of my dynasty and my wife was too old to have kids. Killed her and married some 19 year old who gave me more heirs  Grin

Stardock and Gal Civ are not good games.  They are manifestations of pure evil.  They steal into your dreams and haunt your days.  They infect your thoughts with their seductive gameplay even unto the working hours.

GO NOT UNTO THOSE GAMES OF ADDICTION!  VENTURE NOT INTO THEIR UNHALLOWED TEMPTATIONS, I TELL YOU!
