That's the basic template, it should be enough for anyone to start with, and from there figure out how to adjust things to suit their own needs.

You'll notice I've got kama's over wraps, but still have stunning fist, that's because animal form attacks count as unarmed, meaning you still can use stunning fist even with these kama's equipped.

The gear listed isn't necessarily the best or a requirement, but it's what I have, and it's worked very well for me to date, so I'm leaving it up as an idea for others.

On barb / bard lives, obviously you can't take Monk.  I splash fighter instead at levels 8 and 10 Picking up stunning blow, and improved crit bludgeoning as fighter bonus feats, I also give up toughness, instead taking exotic weapons kamas at level 12.

For rogue, ranger and barb lives, it can very easily be justified to take said class at level 1 for the extra movement speed or skill boosts.

Obviously classes like monk, fighter and ranger get lots of bonus feats to play with. Monk and fighter lives I stick with the template and just enjoy the extra flexability on offer.

Ranger bonus feats don't have a lot of synergy with the build as presented.  I've taken to going 1 ranger > 7druid > 2monk > 10 ranger, and leveling with handwraps from level 15 onwards (using basic wolf form from levels 3-15).

The dragonmarks are a personal preference of mine as I tend to solo and find ddoor very handy.  Other options could be to pick up quicken + maximise, dodge + mobility, stunning blow + any of the previously mentioned feats.  There isn't really a wrong choice.

Yeah, I've been loving this setup. I've done it half-elf and warforged both.

If you aren't really tied to the human dragonmarks the half-elf can be very nice for either 20% extra healing amp on a non-monk life or for 10.5 average extra sneak attack damage.

The forged version is something I tried out to have an 'immune to neg levels' option. It works, and you don't have to take healing amp boosts because in wolf form you no longer take forged healing penalties, and you do get tactics boosts to make your stuns hit more often, but I miss the ability to boost from human versatility with a human or helf.

Out of curiousity on the ranger life Munk...were you taking GTWF feat at 15 as a selected feat? If so, I'm wondering if it's worth going back at 16/17 to pick up 8/9 druid just to provide the level 5 spells. It's not that the level 5 spells are that overwhelmingly good - it's just that unless you're playing at cap you won't see 11 ranger. The 7-10 levels on ranger don't seem to offer much.

Only other thought I have is that if we're hitting 15 as 7 druid/6 ranger/2 monk maybe pick up 3 monk at level 16 for the light finishers and fast movement. At that point we wouldn't be able to go 9 druid anymore w/o using a +1 heart later (but I think the light finishers trump the level 5 druid spells) but we could pick up a 4th monk level for 2% more dodge, better saves, and +0.5[w]. That would put us at level 17 with 7 druid/6 ranger/4 monk. Last level we take would probably be druid then as it would open up Winter Wolf for times we want it, has better saves than 7 ranger, same BaB, and gives us an extra 3rd and 4th level druid spell. That would allow us to end up at 20 as 8 druid/8 ranger/4 monk. Obviously not optimal if you're playing at 20 (that would be 7 druid/11 ranger/2 monk) but I think it might level more effectively at the tail end from 16-18. That setup might have talked me in to giving this a go on ranger lives. Smiley

I do pick up greater 2wf at level 15 as my feat choice.

The leveling order to 15 is fairly important, as you need to have 7 druid levels for Reaving roar, 6 ranger if you want to pick up greater 2wf, leaving the reasoning for 2monk fairly obvious.

Next life, I'm actually going to try out 7/7/6

1 ranger > 7 druid > 2monk > 5 ranger > 4 monk > 1 ranger

I know it requires taking level 19, but at 19, i gain, mobility, shadowfade, movement speed, stance tier II and 1d6 sneak attack.

At the moment I have your 8/8/4 split in mind, and my 7/7/6, but until I try one for myself, I don't want to recommend anything based off of theory.

Dumb question, but do you get proficiency with kamas when you're in wolf form? Since barbs and bards don't get this little exotic weapon proficiency and you don't have the monk splash...

It's easy to grab one of the /2 figher splash feats to gain prof in it but your in case you missed that part.

I was on the same path through level 17 hitting 7/6/4. I hadn't thought about taking level 19 but if you do plan on doing so then absolutely 7/7/6 is the optimal path. I'm not against taking 19...I just normally avoid it as the path of least resistance...so this looks like a nice plan for my ranger life.

Sorry, I'll clarify that.  Animals forms don't grant extra proficiencies (though they do make handwraps viable).

On those lives I also pick up exotic weapons at 12 and give up toughness. No point in taking kamas earlier imo, you're better off with nearly anything else, including wooden clubs casting shillelagh until greensteel.

Sadly there's still no saving pallies, they suck.

Kyrian's Band at 16?

Interesting build though...

Unethical, as well, but that's never stopped anyone before.

Here's a run-down of the 7/7/6 ranger version at level 19 (7/6/6). I only spent 50ap as I just wanted to hit the obvious parts. Personal preference would play a big role in the rest of the spending.

I took Improved Critical: Ranged as I could see spike damage from Manyshot and even a bit of use out of 10k stars at that point. There are just some fights you'd rather not be in melee range and 6 ranger levels makes that a viable option. Given our other choices at level 18 (I'd probably look at Quicken just for my sleet storms as my next choice) boosting that inherent ranged ability with 1 feat seems like a good investment.

I looked at going half elf here. There aren't enough feats to bother with AA so basically we're looking at expeditious retreat, earlier cleave (1 vs 3), and ddoor's versus quicken (I'd take that at level 9 if just for sleet storms) and whatever you get out of your dilettante feat.

Can't wait to try this now...

Are quarterstaffs ever a good option on this build? Or is it better to strictly use kamas\handwraps. I don't have any GS kamas right now but if I can avoid making them and just stick to handwraps\QS's, that would be a convenience.

Quarterstaves are actually better if they're wooden (because of shilellagh), stats on the weapons being equal and monk levels being low enough. That said, there aren't a ton of quarterstaves that would beat what you could get in wraps or make in a gs kama. If you have one though they work just as well as wraps in that both take up both weapon slots when equipped. Kama's have the advantage of not doing that.

I see. I think I'll make lit II / triple positive kama in the offhand for the amp then.

What spells do you usually take as a druid?

Very little point in a trip pos vs a con op amp kama, I'd highly recommend running the extra few shrouds.

You can swap spells at taverns, there's no need to worry about them too much.

Ice storm, deathward, fom, vigors, creeping cold, spider skin, fleas, rams might, shillelagh, resist energy etc.

So you want to know about an exploit?

Not only does the con-opp give you, well, con-opp, but it also can be set up with +6str replacing the 10% amp tier. That's a VERY nice trade-off on a class that needs so many different stats for resists, damage, dc's, hp's, etc.

A few more questions for you guys:

Why Golden Guile?

What does your stunning fist DC look like at 14\18?

Why IC : bludgeon? aren't kama's slashing weapons? I figure you'd be using kamas almost full time honestly compared to most wraps out there.

improved deception

dunno, never made one

ic: blunt because wolf form attacks are counted as bludgeoning, not whatever the weapon you're wielding.

I had started on this build and hit 8 druid before I had to stop playing for a while. So a few questions: #1. is this still a good way to pick up past lives and #2. what does U19 change in terms of this build. I'd like to pick up from where I started but I'm not completely familiar with the new enhancements.
