I never use the mic unless I am with guildies or friends. Everyone assumes you are a guy and lets you play the damn game.
Love running with a silent PUG, everyone doing their thing and typing if they need to, then a girl joins and says, "Hello" over the mic. Suddenly, all the guys find their mics as well.
"We'll wait for you," says gallant knight #1. "Don't wait, I know the way," says girl. "Sorry for my accent, English is not my first language," says gallant foreign knight. "Oh, you sound fine," replies girl distractedly. "You really think so?" foreign knight replies with pride. Girl does not answer. Party waits for 5 minutes. "Don't run ahead, we are waiting for girl," says knight 1 when I wander down the hallway to break some boxes. "Don't wait for me," she says again. "Oh, we don't want you to get late penalties," says gallant knight #3. "Haven't we run together before?" "Maybe," says girl."Really, I'm not worried, about penalites. I'll catch up." "Have you done part 1?" "It's Waterworks, I'm not too worried," says girl. "Oh, you need the entire chain for the end reward, we'll run part 1 again. Everyone recall." "No, you don't need to... oh, here you are... well, ok," she says. They proceed to offer her everything in the chests they loot. "Do you need a +1 shocking longbow?" "No." "I left it for you." "This is my 8th life," she says.
Before we finish the chain, she drops group and so do I because it's become one big muscle-flexing chatfest and we have to wait at every chest for her to reject the stupid vendor trash they want to pass her.
The only way to win the gender game is not to play. Guys just lose it when there is a girl in the group.
I'm not there to be carried or to loot all the named items. I'm not there trying to prove "girls rock" and kick your ass. I just want to play the game like any other player.
