Planning around gear will absolutely guarantee I will not get it.
You may be ahead of the curve... with the feather_of_suned (literally) random U19 gear, no one's going to be able to plan gear.

Seems like for a TWF build you'd be better served by going ranger tempest. You could probably get similar survivability with decent healing amp and maximize critical.
If I'm going to go for survivability, then the build is going to include 6 Monk and centered weapons for Shadow Veil. 6 Monk is also 6% Dodge which is pretty damned good.
Dodge:
06 Monk 6
08 Item
03 Acrobatic (Ninja Spy)
---
17% Dodge without trying. The Dodge feat along with the U19 itemization can get you close to cap.
If you want to use Celestia, then 12 Ranger/6 Monk/2 Whatever can net you 100% offhand strikes. IMO, Celestia is not very exciting.
If you want to use Nightmare, then 8 Fighter/6 Monk/6 Ranger can get you 90% offhand strikes with expanded crit range. Life Stealing procs on crit hits, so Kensei works really well.

Granted, Nightmare is more exciting than Celestia but Celestia's ability to bypass almost all types of DR and auto-blind trash on criticals is VERY nice for a Ninja Spy. Of course, if Ninja Spies could stay centered with Bastard swords, Nightmares would be the way to go.
BTW...confirmed the new Defensive Stance in Shintao does indeed take away 40% chance to make an offhand strike.
Looks like none of my Monks (pure ones anyway) will be using it.

I've been looking at melee/ranged builds and a 4 Arti splash gives you the 4 Hand and a Half enhancements, and several ranged feats. From there, more ranger seems to yield more benefits. If you can get to 9 ranger, you get evasion, thus you can drop the monk. Maybe go with fighter instead to get some feast and bring in the kensai stuff. Maybe 9 ranger, 9 arti, 2 fighter? Or 9 ranger/7 Arti/ 4 fighter?
I've been toying around with some smaller Arti splashes to make a BS melee/ranged build. Not sure yet where the sweet spots are.

The sweet spots are 16 levels for Deadly+Reconstruct, or 2 for scrolls/UMD.
Dropping Monk isn't the right direction. Figuring out how to fit 6 Monk into your build for Shadow Veil and keep yourself centered is the way to build for EE content.
I've had fun with my Juggernaut for almost a year, but there are much better avoidance and mitigation options available now. I'm TRing him before U19 into a staff build.

I feel llike they fucked pure monks pretty good. Especially the unarmed ones. I don't see how a pure unarmed monk maintains enough DPS. Ninja and Henshin give nothing for unarmed, shintao has become defensive. Monks feel like a splash class atm.

Your wish is granted: 8 Fighter (Kensei)/6 Monk (Ninja Spy).
I had thought that Celestia's Radiance was an on-vorpal effect. No-save blinding mobs on 17-20 (16-20 as Kensei or 20 Monk) makes it alot more interesting. The DR breaking aspect is neat, but less of a draw with the new metallic ED bypass feats.

Wait, I must have missed something. What is it about Kensei that allows bastard swords (any weapon?) to be centering for Monks?

Tier 5. One With The Blade
Your melee Focus weapons are considered Centering. This ability does not affect ranged weapons.
AP Cost: 1 Level: 5 Progression: 40 Requires: Fighter Level 5, Keen Edge, Deadly Strike

as much as this is a juggernaut thread, every time i go 8fighter/6monk for centred monk with bastard swords, i always end up at 6 ranger as my left over.
It just seems better than 6arti. 12monk/8fighter seems ok too since i'm an abundant step addict.

It has an on-crit blindness as well as granting a Greater Sunburst proc to all of your weapons that blinds the target. On vorpal is just that wonderful AOE fireball effect to draw more aggro :/ .

What's your self healing plan for 12 Monk/8 Fighter?
Melee Fighter/Monk splits I'm leaning towards:
12 Fighter/6 Monk/2 Druid. Ram's Might, 20% Doublestrike Action Boost and access to Empower Heal Spell are pretty damned good for a splash. Contender for sufficient EE Stunning Blow DCs.
9 Monk/8 Fighter/2-3 Druid. Improved Evasion instead of Power Surge and 2 feats. Your addiction to Abundant Step matches mine for Improved Evasion. With EE traps/spells requiring ridiculous Reflex saves, Improved Evasion lets you dump Reflex saves and still only take half damage.

It's my triple completionist toon. rejuv cucoon and/or stepping away long enough to bust out a heal scroll then getting back in the action.
I'll concede 12/8 probably is probably more of an ehard (shudder) build, but i'm gunna have an attempt at making it work.
Improved evasion is right there with abundant step for me, my monk currently only has a 26 standing (in gear) reflex save.

So then why don't you do that instead of juggernaut? I don't really understand the point of a TWF juggernaut, since ranger will get you more DPS and you can get similar self healing via maximized cure critical/cocoon.

Traps, buffs, umd, longer clickies, more sp all the nice things that a jugg will net you that make it a completely different but still worthwhile build.

Juggernaut is not the ultimate best soloing build or dps build (esp post u19), but it's probably the highest DPS way to get arty buffs in a group.

Np.
Do you have to go 6 monk to open ninja spy?
I'd like to go 8/8/4 on my main possibly if all I'm giving up is grandmaster stances and that would open empower heal. Currently she's a 12/6/2 fighter/ranger/rogue. 8/6/6 looks okay but I guess I need to go play on llama.

I think the 6 monk is for the dodge. AFAICT, 1 (maybe 2, didn't check with less than 2) monk will let you into ninja spy or any of the monk trees. Just not the base line stuff which requires certain breakpoints in level, much like old enhancements (1/6/12/20).
Totally unrelated to the thread, I was dicking around with 12 fighter/5 druid/3 monk using axe of adaxus in earth stance. If I had some actual gear, I might be able to make it work. Nice thing about the way kensai is looking to be set up, you take enhancements based on axes or heavy swords or ranged or whatever, not exact weapon types. Much more flexible than it is now. Still requires the specialization, focus and greater versions of the damage type (slashing/piercing etc) but fighters get a shit ton of feats.
Related to the thread, I'm still at a loss for what to turn my jugg into. He has a bunch of the CITW weapons (no cleaver, because fuck me, right?) and enough comms to unlock many of them fully. 2x nightmares, 2x rapiers, 2x daggers, 1x short sword, the staff and the falchion (i think). He might just wait in the wings for a bit, but who knows.

Yeah, my main has 2 nightmares and pinion, but i'm not fully upgraded and I barely run anything anymore.
I'd just really like to keep the fighter/ranger mix but improve the survivability.
