THAT IS AMAZING!  I'm going to be in Boston in 10 days and I was going to make Maxwell go see this awesome new movie that just came out.  Have you heard of it?  It's called Fern Gully.  Afterwards we're going to go rollerblading and then we will listen to the new NSYNC CD on my Walkman.  It's going to be gnarly!

Sounds awesome!  Check out this link!

Logged on to Lamannia last night. Maybe now I can see what you're talking about. My live client is on  a RAID0 SSD setup, and Lamannia is on a regular spin drive.

Holy fuck it takes goddamn forever for the initial load, and I was coming to a halt when trying to render certain parts of the game world. I thought for sure that my computer was crashing at one point, the lag got so bad.

But also I have no firewall and download all my music from www.totallynotvirusmp3s.ru so that could be a factor.

Yeah, somebody said somewhere I should try running the game from a thumbdrive as that's what they do and if I remember right they said it solved their crashing issues. I just bought a 32 GB one from Ebay, I should be able to run 2 clients from it, so I will be trying it when it gets here.

Now, just wait until you DC the first time you log in and select character. That is a frustrating and annoying motherfucking problem in itself.

And I do have a firewall, a very very good one at that, $50.00 to have a techie buddy come by last night and go through my machine, and according to him I am clean on viruses, but there are some things missing from my operating system and some registry problems. He suggested I re-install windows when I told him that is all probably my fault for blocking so much shit and removing other shit I didn't understand.......... Embarrassed

It actually looked like it was going to happen a couple of times. I got the win 7 whiteout of non-responsiveness thing a few times while DDO was trying to load.

It might also be that HDD. It is 1.5 TB and I don't think it's very fast.

If the thumbdrive solves your issues, it's still totally you computer, because you don't have a SSD Tongue

lol, I also edited the above post. I figure I will try the $20.00 thumbdrive before I decide on whether or not to invest in a SSD.

I haven't tried too hard, but I have googled this a little bit with no luck, but really I would like to spend my money on a new cpu right now, i would like to get a quad core, but i don't want to upgrade my mother board. I just haven't the skills to understand what I read sometimes regarding these fucking things.

You seem to have a clue, so I ask a question: will an ASUS PQ5-pro motherboard support a quad core cpu? Like i said, i haven't put a lot of time/effort in figuring it out as there was never an actual need, it has just been on the wish list for a couple years now.

http://support.asus.com/cpusupport/list.aspx?SLanguage=en-us&m=p5q%20pro ;

That list doen't tell me anything but 2 core.

The URL you are looking for does not exist.
You probably used an expired or wrong URL. Please try to find out the information you need from the following links.

How old is your mobo? What's the socket size? I'm not the best at stuff like this, but it's pretty easy to figure out if you just read a lot. For instance, I currently have the first gen i7 processor. I didn't realize it at first, since I bought a refurb from work. I wanted to upgrade my mobo, since that was my bottleneck. So I bought a new one. It was awesome. Except the socket size didn't jive with my processor and I didn't feel like dropping another 300 bucks on a new processor. So I sold that mobo and just kept what I've got. It's good enough for what I need anyway. Upgrading all that stuff was just because I wanted to have a cool new fast computer, not because I needed it.

The url was a direct link from ASUS website.

2/3 of this machine is circa 2008, top of the line at the time aside from a few upgrades.

Same for me when I asked my old man to build this one, I spent way more than too much at the time and am not interested in doing so again, but in 2008 when I got the machine I was still quad boxing WoW and thought I needed it too.

Now I know that for what I play, I have far more than I need for the only game I am interested in playing.

Or was until the forum changes and this awesomium fucking junk shit crap.

Same for me. SSD main and 7200rpm legacy hdd for lamma.
It does seem DDO is not HDD compatable anymore. The old datdefrag used to work like a champ, but turbine couldnt even get their own program working. After players found simple workarounds that turbine could not, turbine in their infinite wisdom, took steps to further break the utility.

And sadly the files could use a defrag...

I'm still trying to get the hang of the information Mr Brown gave us in another thread, but the sure thing is that I've already seen some quite fun stuff, like 'file' pointers repeated twice ( or more time )
in the same 'sub-directory', or file pointers that points towards different addresses for the same file.
