I hate to say it, but from a purely selfish point of view the new mechanics pan out from my point of view because I wouldn't have had time to farm the hell out of quests in a night anyway. When you can't run more than a small handful of quests in any given evening due to time constraints, you don't want to run shit you don't like to run.
When the shit you DO like to run gives you full XP all over again the next day, that's awesome. It also helps resolve the contradiction between farming for particular loot and levelling; you can go back every day until you pull what you want, getting XP for it every time.
All in all, I gotta say it works for me.
Plus it doesn't even matter when you run anything anymore. As long as you aren't getting a penalty for powerleveling\powerleveled, run it.

Yeah, pretty much threw out the old run quest only at base +2 level.
I run whatever is within range now, so long as highest player is 3 levels higher than me max.
The best thing for me was the removal of repetition penalties.

I second the above mentions that you run content as soon as you can. Previously, you'd bank levels and run content that's below your level. Now you don't need to bank levels and you should regularly be running content that's above you.
For example: Wizard King is a level 12 quest that's easy to get to. One would previously wait to run it at 14 on Elite for Bravery and then farm it on Hard. Now, you run it E/H/H/N as soon as you can handle it. And you keep coming back to it as you level and your ransack penalty decreases.
This is not as efficient as leveling used to be because you have to do lots more running around from quest to quest, but it's not all that bad and it's arguably more enjoyable.

Exactly. For me it is great anyway, sometimes I just log for 45 min, play some quest, and then next day the same again. And I don´t have to worry about banking, or worrying about getting short of xp.

today I ran shadow crypt from lvl 8-10 and did some light farmage of von 3 from 10-11 then von5/ts/one more run of von 3 to 12.......getting to 8 from 7 was doin elite delera's chain.
Now that when you reach -80% xp penalty it stops decreasing it's really good to just keep farming shadow crypt.....I was getting 14k per run with a 25% xp event and 30% pot at 80% penalty every 4-5 minutes.....reason we stopped was 'cause we got bored lol.

You should be getting 3.5K xp every 30 seconds from Shadow Crypt.

and since after it reaches 80% xp penalty it no longer reduces in xp, so you could just farm sc from 7 to 13 and never set foot anywhere else.....lol

um at the 80% xp penalty that would be 2 minute runs with 30 pot and a 25 event, soooo if that is at no xp penalty to 40% xp penalty sure, but when you have lost 4/5ths of the base xp i dont really see that happening.

Farm Storehouse Secret on Casual. Once it gives no xp, kill repeat rares in korthos island. You will eventually cap.

I'm also curious about this... I'm a bit of a numbers geek... I'm also a bit of a TR-junky (something about the instant gratification of constant progress, etc.).
I'd be interested to know the new "optimal" TR xp plan, including running things at or above level and including the chunk of xp gained from getting saga xp possibly...
Previously there were quests you didn't run because they were pretty shitty xp/min... I think that still applies now, first time completion bonus doesn't totally wipe away shitty xp/min (Hold for Reinforcements for example :p), but repetition of certain ones has also been cut down a bit.
But like I said, I like to have an optimal plan to follow versus winging it... best versus adequate...

Paralysis by analysis. Nothing's really changed, and now it's even easier to cap. Take Epoch's advice.

I know I know, with all the fundamental changes to ddo, there is no way anybody could have all the important stuff memorized that fits their specific playstyle. Sad but true, I shall reroll and start again!
