What rings are currently broken/not working with the new enhancements?

I noticed my whisper ring says I need the fifth core ability of tempest for its effect.

All.  Seriously, even if they were working why would you bother.  Two whole gear slots that do absolutely nothing nowdays thanks to stat powercreep... except for a mediocre set bonus?

only set still worth having is Gilvanors and only for the set bonus, once that can be had on something else it will be dumped by all AAs within seconds

it also gets harder to justify the single ring on unarmed monks for the holy burst

Iirc, Frenzied Berserker Set isn't giving its first bonus as well.

Re: Usefulness. The 20% HAmp on a ring slot is still something sparsely found otherwise. And in regards to set bonuses, I think that Ravager is still OK (yet outshined by deadly), and Assassin Set's level drain can offer an alternative option to kill mobs faster apart from straight damage.

That's not opinion, that's science. And science is one cold hearted bitch with a 14 inch strap on.

As far as I know they are still the only way to get the extra energy dmg for a monk.

It would be nice to see replacements Sad

I use them in leveling, but drop them around level 22-25 except for my monk.

Only other item with +20 hamp are bracers. and if you have bracers you need you are sol.

I’d kind of like to see the rings become 2 slots, the set bonus and an Incredible Potential.  Then allow us to crunch the necklaces/belts into a colorless augment.  Having no reason to run old raids is bullshit.

Agreed.  The +6 stat should be stuffed in a colorless slot so that you can swap it for a +1/+2 insight/exceptional or a +7/+8 stat as you level.  The other effect (GFL, Seeker,Skill +15,Casting Clickie, etc) could sit in a green slot.  And thus be scalable as well.  The huge problem being that the majority of the non-stat effects are not things you can slot currently.  And some of them provide unique and fun flavor (like the Kormor's belt) that would be lost by going this direction.  Although, in those cases, I would be OK with a yellow slot and their special effect both being on the belt.  It would not be in any way OP.

They could also give us an epic version of the raid with epic versions of all the belts, necklaces, rings with appropriate crafting options for ML 24-28 gear.  And set bonuses that work off ED's instead of PrE's.  Or maybe both.

Ohhh, that's a great idea!  I really like that raid and it doesn't seem to get run much.

I'm against an epic ToD primarily because I would much rather have the Shavarath storyline continued with epic level quests leading to a new epic raid, and have that be where ToD inspired loot drops.  Also because it's already 20 base and epic would bump that what, 5ish levels? Any more and it competes with where further storylines would be.  And there's plenty of easy material left out there.  Off the top of my head:

The devil leadership is broken (thanks to us).  In the ensuing power vacuum named devils make their play for power (quest bosses, raid minibosses).  With all eyes looking inward the demons swarm through the Iron Maw unchecked (more quests, excuse for demons in the raid).  Thanks, again, to us for breaking it wide open in Bastion of Power.

But wait, there's more! After all that comes the third pack/raid.  We've broken both the demon and devil armies.  The Mad Archon makes its move.  Break out the evil weapons, it's time to slaughter us some angels!  ED based loot, I guess.  I won't lie, I would absolutely love angelhide armor.  Like picking out live lobsters in a tank at a restaurant.

Not gonna happen. Turbine are pretty much ignoring Eberron for the forseeable future to add more Faerun content. Adding epic versions to existing raids is about the best you can hope for I suspect.

That's not what I read.

I recall a post in which it was discussed that new Eberron content, specifically Amrath, was in development.  I think this was last year about this time.  The concept was that it would be 2-3 FR releases for one Eberron (or some such), but that there was some Eberron content in the mix.

I think I've read Maj saying someone is working on Vale right now. Epic Vale perhaps?

Epic Vale again? I thought Epic Greensteel was something which was abandoned in '08.

Does that invalidate my point in any way? Not that I would be too disappoint with epic vale, but it's still not new content. They may do something similar to FoT I guess.

What I'd really like to see is more tie-in between the two realms. It's unlikely the inhabitants of Shavarath have not got wind of the existence of the portal to Faerun, one would assume that they would want to take advantage in some way...

Sure, it's at the corner of Google It and Go Fuck Yourself.

Grin

P.S.  Gotta love Hangover.  What a shame they fucked it up with two horrible sequels.
