Really, whining about Undead? Y'all need to toughen up. They are an iconic enemy in the game, and there are plenty of ways to deal with them. How many times have people asked for something different?

I really think raids would be better if they didn't have 3 difficulty settings.  They are Raids.  They should only be runnable on Elite.

I can't decide if that idea is glorious or disastrous.

......fuck it, I'm tired of soulstones out-rolling me on loot.  Make it happen.

The way Turbine has implemented them, they have become just a more frustrating "beat down the thing with 50,000 hit points".   Rogues lose their sneak attacks to them.  Criticals are gone.   They all have different DR.   Turbine made it so that Turn Undead is just about useless against them.   The wraiths/spectres/shadows phasing in and out.

At least with fleshy things, players get the satisfaction of see those big crit numbers. Rogues get to use their sneak attacks and see all those sets of numbers floating upwards.

Yes, they can be beaten... it just seems more like work than fun.

Raid Boss Summary:
Devil/Demon: 7
Construct: 3
Dragon: 2 (Counting TO as a Dragon)
Giant: 2  (Not counting Tempest Spine as a Raid)
Undead: 1 (Counting TO as a Dragon)

Some raids had more than one "boss", but only one had two different types of bosses.  FoT-Dragon and Giant.

Based on this, I'd be OK with a raid featuring:  Undead, Giants, or Dragons.  They are still the least served aspect of the enemy options.  A raid with Human/Dwarf/Elf as major components would be fine too.  Or Abberations.

I am guessing that Dracolich in Breaking the Ranks will re-appear at some point.  Maybe as a raid boss.

Oh my gosh yes. If we're talking iconic D & D monsters this would be quite spandangulous.

They could do a Chronoscope type raid in Schindylryn easily. That would let them use an already developed map which i assume would save significant time. The objective would be to take down the network of portals and cripple drow ability to attack that section of Cormyr. The boss could be a Spinner of Shadows type who periodically summons redname goristros, bebelith and Drow priestesses. If you don't kill the priestesses quickly enough, they are sacrificed to heal the Spinner by some amount of hp. (Fair turnabout for all the prisoners they sacrifice in other content.) Raid drops significantly better versions of the current Schindylryn items, plus extras. None of the special attacks for the spinner involve sp drain. Debuffs, acid and poison dots, etc are fair game on the other hand.

How about some yuan-ti love? A yuan-ti aberration in an ancient temple has mustered a great army and equipped it with eldritch weapons forged in a fiery chasm deep in the Underdark. The quest arc to flag takes you through a battle to first seal an entrance into the King's Forest where you learn of the threat, second to find out more about the threat, third to destroy the source of the weapons, and finally to open a path/portal for the Purple Dragon Knights and War Wizards to destroy the army. Then in the raid, you have to pass through several layers of the temple that split your party in order to reach the yuan-ti aberration at the end.

The dracolich would be a perfect raid boss for a raid added in the Stormhorns.

Next boss will be an inanimate crystal. A certain wizard on Khyber will never complete the quest.

Or it will be an epic raid version of Bloody Crypt, only with 50,000 coffins to check. You can spend 50 astral shards to narrow it down to 1,000 of them.

How about another raid in Eberron instead of Forgotten Realms?

Currently there is only 1 raid in FR.  The last raid, FoT, was Eberron.  It's FR's turn.  Smiley

Seriously, I don't care where they put the quest entrance.  Get the gameplay and the loot right and I'll be there.

You still have Muckbane and Muckdoom for that... and at Epic level anyway it doesn't matter, just let the Tincan Wizard deal with the Rusty Boss.

Turbine made it so that Turn Undead is just about useless against them.

Well I don't know about EE ( frankly I can't remember when was the last time I seen a cleric in EE when playing monkcher ), but my main is back to cleric ( 3 clr past lives
and all turning bells and whistles from RS ) and turning is ridiculously effective, turning minibosses, whole corridors of trash. Looking forward to try in EE.

For melee, maybe if people stop being dumb and twist grim precision, use black instead red, use sunder and monk thing, and stopped swinging Balizardes against TO, undead wouldn't be such "problem ".

Like recent thread how precision is useless, fml.

With a good enough spot you don't need to click each coffin. Just run by it will tell you when you stand in front of the pair with the heart. Click 2 coffins and kill.

I will admit ignorance on Turn Undead as the last time I tried to use it was in 2006.  Smiley

That rogue should be in Shadowdancer and backstab away on those undead.  I get a lot of joy out of backstabbing those fuckers at Epic after they were such bastards during heroic.

Getting to level 28 just sucks with the lack of really high-end content that pays decent XP (new stuff's XP sucks).  Only people who don't have an issue with it are one-toon-wonders.

Epic TR's benefits need to be insanely good to consider it.

Word.

Where the fuck are the quests and raids? Does anyone actually remember what D&D is? DM fucking about with systems was for his own time when he was bored, not for the group that got together on Thursday night, they just cared about the adventure, together.

Forgive me if I'm off on my FR's lore but I think when Mystra died the Tarrasque became unkillable. The Tarrasque required a Wish spell to kill and somewhere in the FR lore/various iterations of D&D Wish went away as a spell. That is unless Ana manages to do something useful for a change. Tongue

Honestly if you know you're facing stuff that has a lot of fortification and you're on a sneak attack/crit-heavy toon you can do worse than twisting Grim Precision with any ED. I can rarely fit it in now that I'm carrying Cocoon most of the time but for the new raid I might end up not twisting one of Cocoon/Pin to fit it in on my AA.
