I want a build for my main-- who has always been cleric-based. I'm open to anything. But I want to be able to solo or shortman EEs.
Is caster cleric even viable?
I assume melee would either be unarmed, staff, eSoS, or maybe even ranged-based.
Thoughts?

The divine types on Sarlona that don't want to be just healbots seem to go ranged. Dunno how soloable they are, but they do contribute pretty decent DPS.
Not sure any divine is soloable after they nerfed trees, except for maybe those SLA builds that take 2 minutes to kill each mob.

I absolutely have considered a Clonkcher. Hmm...

Ok, here are the main approaches I see:
1. Clonkcher:
If you stick with 17+ cleric, you're short feats.
1Emp heal
2Max
3quicken
4Rapid shot
5Manyshot
6Point Black
7Precise
h1Improved Precise
m1Zen Archery
M210k Stars
lvl 21Imp Crit Ranged
Leaves you feats for lvl 23 & 27. Can't get perfect stance. But coudl get grandmaster for +1 crit
Crap Reflex
No Improved Evasion
APS will be tight
No move speed bonus
Dodge may be weakish
----------------------
Unarmed
works ok. Stun would be great. Not the best in big groups of mobs.
--------------------------
Dual Nightmares?
Could use heavy armor and focus on PRR.
Could do O.Crit
Might even be able to leverage negs+cleaves for awesome implosions/instakills (did this on a clonk with gravewraps. Works well with slay living actually)
Reflex = lol
--------------------------------
Sireth blitz-based. Some guy on forums says he rolls this way and it works in EE.
Thoughts?

If you are going to rip off someone elses EE build, make sure you have the same gear to make it work. Otherwise, you will suck at mimicking their shittastic build.

Also, CiTW and FoT are still legit. And a new raid is coming next year. Sure you can TR and change your build when you need to, but you can do some sweet stuff with an 18 FvS or a 17 Cleric and have a ton of fun in EE content.
You do need the gear and the PL's to make it fly, though. It's not something you will be pulling off on a poorly geared 1st or 2nd lifer.

1. Good gear isn't even hard to get anymore.
2. Having "great" gear takes some work. That's a good thing.
3. I already have A shiradi and a monkcher who win DDO.
4. Of the "great" gear that takes work, 75%+ is farmable with other toons. (c.f. #3)
5. This toon is on like life 8 or 9. Probably will be 10 when I actually do the cleric build. So.. yeah.

I found this doable and viable. But, I have a monkcher, so I'm looking for a diff playstyle. I now have an idea will post in a min to get feedback

Ok, this deviates from my 17 cleric thing. But, atomic swayed me. I DO like implosion. BUT, in order to get it viable you REALLY have to focus. I'm finding I prefer flexibility.
SO, I decided to go a different route-- I give you..
The Priesturnaught (version alpha)
Concept: Flexible self-healing melee w/ranged option which can help buff/heal group and has solid defense through saves, PRR, self heals, and ability to kite when necessary.
12 cleric
6 ranger
2 pally
DORF (partially for flavor-- my original life was a dorf "battle cleric"-- but it also works)

i think it's funny that people think putting
12x / 6 Monk or Ranger / 2 monk or Ranger and LD or Fury is somehow making up a build.
It's not. It's all just variation on using blitz or fury for manyshot and melee. These are just builds that allow people utilize blitz and fury.
Makes me sad that there is no melee build without one of those 2 ED's (except maybe monk in GMOF)

Maddmatt ? Hey I read 55 assassinate works well too !
63- 64 works in old shit and Wheloon.
I thought about clonk ( godly EiN and SF but shit evo ), but that's not much "clericy" and more punchy, so fuck that, I 'd play monk then.
Fury "soul" maybe, but that's gimp monkcher too.
Decided to go pure cleric, should be at 68 evo when at cap.
But prolly won't cut it in Stormhorns, noone runs it anyway so meh.

THose are kinda the main melee DPS EDs.
Unless you're a rogue-- You do SD
Or a Tank you might go US
Or a Druid you might even do Primal.
So in other words, there ARE other EDs people use.
But if you run a flexible DPS build in the DPS EDs, then it's "funny" or "sad" to you.

Is it sad when DC casters use DI or Magister? Just wonderin'.

Lol what caster uses DI or Magister? They use Shiradi. Just like all melee use Fury or LD.
Using the example of a Rogue in SD is asinine. As is the unherad of Druid in Primal (no one uses primal except previously some exploitery monk builds fore the Tree form).
I'm just sick of 12/6/2 builds. Relax. It's not your fault (except for being uncreative) it's Turbine's fault for not knowing how to balance ANYTHING.

my sorc runs draconic, and does fine
I know of 2 wizards who hate the idea of shiradi and both run magister or draconic. Of course those two are also completionists........
But the point does stand that most casters run shiradi, and it's really stupid.
IMO they coulda made primal avatar better if they had done stuff running on the theme of rejuvenation cacoon, and had stuff in all tiers of the tree that upgrade the cacoon....would be cool.....

A half-dozen boss Vaulties donated generously with real money to my classroom during a fundraiser in May 2015 to get poor kids books to read. I won't forget that. They know who they are, and they freaking rule.

Good grief Meat, you're hopeless. You would label the simple act of taking a shit as someone obeying the divine law of nature to leave a proof of existence.

Lol what caster uses DI or Magister? They use Shiradi.
Shiradi even allows divine casters to retain their DCs. Blade Barrier + Shiradi is pretty fun too. Too bad that's the only trick it has.

This. With a 58 Evo DC, Implosion is great.
