Updated:

At this time we are in the process of issuing direct refunds for any charges to affected accounts above the cost of monthly subscription payment(s). Please note that it may take a few days for these refunds to be reflected on bank statements after the refund is issued; the length of processing time depends on your bank. Once the refund has been processed, your bank can verify the transaction before it shows on your statement. If you need further assistance, or have questions with regards to the refund or any potential related fees, we recommend that you contact the phone number on the back of your bank card.

If you do not see the refund on your statement after a few days, if you incurred any penalties due to the charges, or if you need further assistance with your account or billing, our Customer Service Agents will be happy to take care of you. You can get in touch with Account Support by going to support.turbine.com, then clicking on "Support Center" and "Submit a Ticket." Players can also contact Account Support toll-free at 1-855-WBGAMES (Account Support Hours: 10am – 7pm Eastern Time 7 days a week (GMT -5).)

We deeply apologize for this situation, and any difficulties this has caused. We want to assure everyone that Turbine is dedicated to making sure we provide you with the best game experience and support possible, and that we are treating this issue with the highest priority. We are taking steps to ensure this never happens again to any of our players.

---

We are working to refund users who received erroneous subscription charges. We will be contacting any players directly who were affected by this issue. We deeply apologize for the inconvenience and will bring more information as it is available.

well as they moved everything under the same billing/account system it is to be expected in all the games...

Wait for the LoTRO failure now if it hasn't happened already.

It is pretty clear that Turbine really does not know how to do anything.

When it happens the first time, the problem should never, ever occur again.  This happened in April 2013 also.

But it does.  And it will happen again.

Any business that erroneously steals their customer's money over and over should be out of business.

LOL, that's that wonderful billing upgrade biting them in the ass yet again!

How glorious this is (in a schadenfreude way)!

I don't think you know what that word means...  It is still shitty, but they aren't stealing...

One thing for everyone who is a "skeptic" on this issue: Insurance companies are basing their underwriting on the assumption that it is real. They are refusing to write policies on homes that are likely to be in danger from rising seas 20 years from now, even though the resale rate of the homes is so high that they could keep writing policies for another 10 years and still not have to pay out on 1 policy in 5, but that would be irresponsible. Unethical, as well, but that's never stopped anyone before.

It is fairly natural to assume that the fair price for the pot is the fair value of the resources I needed to make the pot plus the fair value of my labor.

they are just relieving you of your money by accident for a an undisclosed amount of time, without your permission. its not stealing because you can have your money, that they took without your consent, sometime in the future.   Roll Eyes

like taxes except taxes don't have the likelihood of getting fair value in return.
