Is Pure Arty viable in endgame/EE ? Apart from the Jugg THF style lines should I try? or do 16 arty 2 pally 2 ranger?

I see zero reason to go pure arti.  You can try 18 arti/2 monk/1 ?.  Lots of possibilities on that last level now.  With shiradi and leveraging blade barrier, it should be a pretty decent meat grinder for soloing.  However, I hate hybrids.  Honestly, why not just play a monkcher?

My Arti is pure. I took the Shadowdancer ED (hello Evasion!) as well. He's got a 54 Int and Insightful Reflexes.

That means a LOT of crossbow damage and with my gear and ship buffs, a 51 Reflex save.

Yes he's a Repeater build who can exceed 350 first number points of damage with his shots.

I have fun with him.

Look up Dubble O'Seven (or however it's mangled) build on the forums. He plays on Sarlona and has always been very solid, though I haven't run with him since U19 and dunno if he updated.

What do you have twisted out of interest? My pure arti's been mothballed at 20 for some time, but I have a hankering to give him another go. He's basically the dubble'o seven build on a first life (so 16 con). The dubble 'o build takes:

Twist1: Magister evocation specialist (+3 evocation DC's)
Twist2: Draconic incarnation precise casting (+2 evocation DC's)
Twist3: Unyielding sentinal brace for impact (40% fort, +2 saves, allows usage of Yugo int pots with no fort reduction)

Is this what you go with?

20 Arty is beast in Shadowdancer with evasion and shadow form. Don't forget how awesome the Charm/Kill thing is, and before THEY BROKE IT AGAIN consume was beast. It's broken now though, at least it was a week ago on my 25 Rogue Shadowdancer. SR-less implosion.

You can also twist in energy burst. Honestly though, some Arty 12/x/x would be much better I'm sure. Although for rune arm damage you pretty much want to be pure or close to it Think.

Artis are only gimped in situations where Turbine went “Full Retard” on the mob saves.  (ex. Vine Horrors having evasion and 45+ reflex saves in HE Lost in the Swamp.)  Other than that, they’re a lot more fun to play than prior to the enhancement pass.  If you go heavy on Battle Engineer, the Tactical Mobility enhancement makes Runearms a lot more fun.  If you go heavy on Arcanotech, the SLAs are a lot of fun.

I’d like to give you some feedback on a hand and a half melee arti, but I have to stick to a Weekend Warrior schedule until late december.

They rock in EH.  (Even solo EH.)  They’re fun in an EE group.  Anything with evasion will piss you off in EE as Turbine scaled reflex saves into the stratosphere for no apparent reason.

Re-booted one of my older arty builds. did a +20 heart, rebuilt him. Damage still sucky on base non crit damage. 30-50's at level 16. This made me sad

Just non buffed base. With DW and ID its more 50-75 with bigger crits. That still doesnt cut it for epic levels

How crappy of a crossbow are you using?  I’m thinking you may be talking to a bunch of Needle, Quill-slinger users here.  (I am.)  Between the 2.5[1d12] base damage and the 19-20/x3 crit profile, it makes a huge difference on the fun factor.

I ran that raid for the first time last night. yuck.

Needle is also ML23 and that seems to be what I'd have to use. I will be paying more attention to lootgen repeaters that drop for a little while. Apart from my Lit II I am not seeing dmg numbers to make me want to continue for long past 20 on my arty
