Do you listen to any of the noise in DDO?

I'm mainly wondering if a majority of folks have turned DDO sounds off as a result of annoying crap that DDO keeps doing throughout history in our headsets.  Jacking around with volume levels.  Adding new, annoying sounds.  Crinkling paper in are ears, and having overly loud DINGS, ransack, and ambient sounds.

Did you turn it off because of the annoyances?  Did you already have it turned of?  Or do you put up with the "Tinklemeister's" shit?

I've had game sounds off for a long time now so that I could hear voice chat better.  Don't think I've heard game sounds since maybe around u9

Same. Turned almost everything down just to hear voice chat better.

I have the game sounds turned down to almost nonexistent, so as to not interfere with my music.

I pause the music if I need to hear voice chat.

Music off, Sounds and Narration on, but quiet. On headset, together with teamspeak. Music from stereo.

I actually enjoy the sound feedback of someone joining the group or posting something (especially when I am tabbed out). I like the ransack/ingenious/whatever xp log sounds.

Same as me...

Except I never need to hear voice chat. If people have something to say, I'd rather find out face first - and hopefully break the quest or something.

I turned off the ingame sounds long ago.
Several reasons, one is the voice chat. Even without any sound I have problems to understand some players. Beeing not a native english speaker usually makes it a bit harder to understand noisy or low volumed players.

And on the other hand the DDO music and sound never felt amazing for me. I prefered to turn on some music after a while of playing ddo. It's a bit sad because I also played games in former times where I was still listening and enyoing ingame sound and especially music after several years of daily play. And even if I now hear some music from that game I know exactly where it was and how the environment looked, that's really cool.

Oftentimes it's your volume mixer that causes voice chat to be so low in sound, try cranking up DDO to 100%. I wasn't aware that mumble for me at least, permanently suppressed the sound of DDO even when it wasn't open so I always had a hard time hearing voice chat up until I raised the volume on the mixer.

When I first played the game I enjoyed a lot of the music and sounds, especially some of the Amrath stuff and such. But now I've just grown tired of it and turn it all off in favor of hearing voice chat\my music more.

1. purchase a hand gun
2. load and arm said hand gun
3. point at head and pull trigger
....... oh wait you must have already tried this or you wouldn't be so fucking brain dead as to pick at the faults in the sound effects of a game so riddled with bugs that if you log out while sneaking when you log back in you will have hide and move silently active while maintaining normal movement...

Music turned off, ambient down to a whisper, all other sounds in the mid-range, voice cranked all the way up.

Even without playing music, that's the way to go. I often find myself having played for an hour or more w/o even putting the headphones on at all.

That said: doughnut.

All of my sounds are at 03 except for voice chat which is at 100.  I like having the music on a tiny bit because the changes in music at the start of combat help me know when to start paying attention.

In-game music off and all other sound settings except voice chat set to 0.03 (because any louder and you cannot hear voice chat or teamspeak).  The fucktards at turbine know fuck all about audio, clearly...

For those who like it at 11:
These go to 11

I've got master volume at 100%, Voice at 100%, Music at 0% and everything else at 1%. I have the output set for my headphones so I can take them off to fully enjoy my music in the background.

Lately I don't wear the headphones unless someone in my group is using voice chat. Other words, I have the game muted unless someone is using voice chat.

Also, Donut.

Music off, everything else is really low.

Unless I'm in TS, I normally play without the headphones on.

So you create a quiz with:

1)  I don't listen to it because it is shit.
2)  I don't listen to it because I like my music and it is shit.
3)  I do listen to it and it is shit.
4) Obligatory joke.
5) Obligatory donuts.

What's the point of making a poll if there is only one point of view in the poll?

How many people are going to say they like the music in DDO?

Um...NONE, dumbfuck.  Because you didn't give anyone an option to choose that.

I don't think the music in DDO is all that great, but learn how to make a fucking poll or stick to regular posts.

This.  Except I've had them turned off for a lot longer than update 9.

When the voice chat has to be turned up 100%, and the in game sounds have to run between 1-3 percent to hear people speak...  The game audio is (still) seriously fucked for some setups.

The only caveat here in the last..  Umm..  five years or so since I turned the sounds off, was the LOB raid.  In addition to the visual cue on the main boss before the stun attack, there was also an audio "chime" at the start of that attack.  So I would adjust the audio settings before starting the fight,, so I'd know when I needed to block.

All sounds on, voice chat on the bare minimum. Unless it's a raid that I haven't done 100x times or that requires some coordination...

the first thing, after installing ddo, was to turn any kind of ingame sound, except voice chat, of course, off. I hate that in any kind of mmo...
