I think a number of people had PB squelched actually. Ah well. It doesnt matter now.

Most of us did.  How many have ever been /ignored in the history of ML?  Three?

She was passionate.  About what she could do to improve the game for herself.  Her participation was self serving.

Now she is trying to take credit for things that happened AFTER she left/was removed or had no part in at all.

Hendrick has been in ML since mod 1. No fucking wonder. That guy is such a pickle smoocher.

You might have forgotten to add that he doesn't understand how builds work to the degree that he's endorsed some pretty dumb things on the main forums.  That and due to his proximity to the dev's asses he's allowed to blatantly troll anyone and everyone with no consequence.

Coldin I am now wondering about as well.  How in the fuck could you not understand how a centered kensai would dynamically change gameplay?

There are some pretty great players with 06' join dates on the forums.  Magically, mysteriously, they are barred from input in things like Mournlands and the player council.  Instead, we've had guys with no functional knowledge giving direct input for years.

Now how did the game get fucked up again?

Dont think I changed anything directly but a couple of devs said I asked good questions so I guess that's useful. If something was too flipdesk though I would do my best my logical arguments based on information I would quietly collect from live.  Logical, persuasive, dispassionate arguments seemed to help sometimes.

The centered Kensai thing....It cost way more when we saw it and at that point it was a fair trade off...after it went live and they dropped the cost it became an unfair trade.

Nah she is just a bitch that did absolutely nothing worth anything on ML..Any change she was just looking out for her characters and how she plays..

Man I'm glad she suggested /raid completions...oh wait here's my last post on raiding:

Raiding – What Went Wrong

What follows is my personal commentary on the current state of raiding
and the events/situations that led to this state of affairs.

(feel free to skip to the Bold Faced Words at this point)

I feel that I am qualified to speak on this topic as I have 100+ completions
on most raids, 1000+ on a few particular raids.

Additionally, I organized a rather prolific Raid Training program on Sarlona
in addition to having led numerous guild/channel and PUG raids.

Finally, I have soloed several raids and participated in groups that set
all-server speed records that are unbroken to this day.

In other words, I have a more than passing familiarity with the raiding
scene at causal and professional levels.

Raiding in General
Not having anything unique and desirable to spend epic raid tokens severely
devalued eberron epic raid completions. New random lootgen outclassed
even the newest of eberron raids, further exacerbating the issue.

Killing several raids overnight only to replace them all with a single buggy escort
raid while introducing the highest end items into only 6-man content basically
crushed the raid scene. Fall of Truth helped, though the lackluster raid loot
and high value 6-man items meant most of the high end effort went into farming
hats from Tor and similar escapades.

Old Epic Raids
Dragon (Vault of Night)
Demon Queen
Chronoscope
Lord of Blades
Master Artificer

Current State:
Chronoscope – All items completely outclassed by random gen forgotten realms gear.
Dragon – Only ran for pre-raid XP, eSOS shard/blank, and freedom boots. Still popular for guilds, channels, and pugs.
Demon Queen – Highly diluted shard drops means completing a specific item is quite tedious. Mainly ran for prestige epics or base items for TR.
Master Artificer – Few characters have more than 5 completions. Completely ignored once the blank is acquired.
Lord of Blades – Incomplete itemization. Current loot tables are completely insane, forcing running a specific difficulty. Raid was only available for a short time before forgotten realms random lootgen and commendation rewards completely outclassed most equipment from what was previously the premier raid.

Suggestions:
Add heroic commendations or whatever the generic raid currency will be
now. Suddenly you’ll have many more raids ran on a much higher basis.

Dragon
Major itemization overhaul. (there is one good epic item and one good heroic)

Demon Queen
Full base item list on 10th completion.
Full shard list on 20th completion. (raid or explorer shards)

Chronoscope
Major itemization overhaul.
More powerful/versatile set bonus.

Master Artificer
Drop fragments at a higher rate than Lord of Blades.
Add interesting items to the loot table to reflect the nature of a factory. Perhaps
a permanent loot bonus here, say in the form of all items being high level masterwork/cursed
could help. I don’t have a fully fleshed out plan here.

Lord of Blades
Correct the loot tables.
Normal – Spirits and Shards
Hard – Spirits and Shards, Refined Spirits and Refined Shards, low chance for Exquisite Spirits and Exquisite Shards
Elite – All items at a much higher drop rate, especially Exquisite Spirits and Exquisite Shards. Add other high end items like +5 tomes at a low but achievable rate. (similar to +4 tomes in Tower of Despair)
Add a red slot to mystical tier 3 items.
Add dual-shard recipes.

Completely and Nearly Obsolete Raids
Vision of Destruction
Hound of Xoriat
Titan
Reaver’s Fate
Tower of Despair

Current State:
Items in these are either obsolete, heroic TR toys, or highly situational.

ToD – Change to insight stat stacking and to-hit invalidated many of
the sets and reasons for running the raid. Only the Oremi and Gilvanor
sets are still relevant, and only then for specific situations/builds.

Suggestions:
VoD/HoX – Full item list (including new items) on 5th completion.
Titan – Epic version. New itemization beyond the scope of this thread.
Reavers’s Fate – Full item list on 5th completion, including seals.

Tower of Despair – Most likely too late to move to generic rings that get upgraded to a specific set. Instead offer the complete list after 10 runs.
Add generic ingredients to make the following upgrades: (all upgrades handled via increasing amounts of war trophies)
Primary stat 6 to 8
Primary stat 8 to 10
Exceptional stat 1 to 2
Exceptional stat 2 to 3
Make all sets work and have relevant bonuses slightly lower than the highest level set bonuses.

Special Snowflakes
Abbot

Current State:
Many of the items from this raid are still relevant. It’s also still just about
as challenging as ever due to the puzzles and elite HP increase.

Buffed items are quite nice, so are the new upgrades with the notable
exception of the Vile Blasphemy nerf and upgrade bug.

Suggestions:
Leave the completion count alone.
Add and addition chest per difficulty. (2 chests on hard, 3 chests on elite)
Don’t touch anything else here as changes to this raid have been prone to errors.

Raids That Still Get Ran:
Shroud
Web
Fall of Truth

Current State:
Web – Rarely ran due to the raider’s boxes. May pick up steam later if the new raid weapons flop
and as builds change and people require new base items.
Fall of Truth – Ran mainly for commendations. Somewhat useful loot for a wide variety of classes. Most common LFM today.
Shroud – Still ran frequently and remains the gold standard for designing a raid with ingredient trading,
customization, complete itemization for all builds, etc. Certain weapons and body pieces are still
best in class to this day.

Suggestions:
Change heroic commendations to BtA. Give a reason for people to bring certain classes once they
already have the loot and upgrades. Ditto for helping to gear up alts, as some of us have more than
a single character.

Pay attention to the staggering success that is shroud and why it has withstood the test of time when
designing new raids and crafting systems.

Miscellaneous

/raid completions

Please add something like this as a separate command. (Better yet, a full blown raiding interface that could include a “trophy room”.)

Most of us would settle for a command though. Typing /quest completions and wading through things like Kobald Assault is not helpful.

Universal Raid Currency
Epic raid tokens had huge potential that was never implemented.

The new universal currency (apparently heroic comms or valor comms) could be
spent in even more ways.

Think about creating special altars that have unique items/upgrades specific to
each pack to help drive sales for neglected content.

Summary
Ya’ll killed raiding.

Minor changes closely resembling what I’ve laid out should be relatively simple and completely
revitalize the raiding scene, sell more content packs, and restore community faith in the game.

Win-Win

Here's the deal...they may not have had much choice.

I'm in the software biz too.  Paying down technical debt doesn't always happen, let alone fixing old "features".

I can understand the business decision to focus on new things, though it's saddening to see old stuff get neglected so badly when a few simple changes would go so far.

I bet quite a few things we tried to get implemented but couldn't because of engine issues or other such things will get thrown at the PC for feedback as well.

I would love to speak out on some devs good and bad but that is one of our rules.  Just remember the devs all have different playstyles, I bet some don't raid.  And they do work for a living, they have people to answer to.  Even if they want to change things it has to be OKed.

Yeah the moment we were told about shutdown we started asking about removing part of NDA. We just got final word today, and ML forums shut down on Wed.

Good ML was the second worst thing to happen to DDO.

Eladrin being the first.

FoS being the third.

LOL Mem.  the diehards can not tolerate dissent.  That is why they are on a constant crusade to get people banned who do say everything is roses and sunshine.

And really some of the worst of the worst are the ones lashing out at you.  You are interrupting their attempt to strut and brag about how 'great' they were for the game after all Smiley

This name has already been linked to me on ML forums, I just thought it was a funny name.  Xyfiel...

Memnir I don't dislike you.  I see many people post how ML was useless.  While I agree with you it could have been so much more, it wasn't useless.  I decided to have an impact even if that impact was limited.  I don't hate people for having different viewpoints.

So did they need you to point it out to them or was it a business decision to not spend a pitifully small amount of code time to a simple script to filter a smaller amount of data on something they had already coded up?

I'm terrible at my job, though I excel at drinking while crying.

There are some things on the way that are fucking stupid.

Hopefully the new raid(s) can turn things around.

This has nothing to do with dissent, there was plenty of dissent on ML, we just didn't call the devs names, well there was that one time I got banned for three days but that wasn't for name calling directly.
Memnir draws a lot ire because he was there for a very short period of time and gave very little feedback. And then was gone only to turn up here bashing us when he knew full well we couldn't respond, and now that we can respond he is giving us a spiel about reading past threads and feeling his input wouldn't matter. Had he simply said that 2 years ago and nothing more then we would have simply written him off as someone who didn't like the experience and left.

The simple fact is I am sure Memnir could give a crap what we feel about him
