Keep getting invites, but like one person said above: I'll wait 6 months before opting in for a while; just to make sure the bugs have been worked out and see if there has been any changes that make the game better and more immersive.

Its always been the gameplay immersion, but just isnt the same as previous ES games; or Bethesda for that matter.

I've been playing Aldmiri since the beta stuff was wiped, I've enjoyed it for the most part (I've had chests I couldn't open sniped, people are such jerks!).

I'd be happy to play with people from here if any of y'all are interested in grouping or whatever.

ESO sadly is just another huge let down, just like every other game this year.  We need to rise up and let the game companies know that we wont stand for their bullshit anymore

It is your fault for failing on the first try. I run up and stand next to chests in case the person fails. I do not worry, because I never fail. Chests are east son, get some. There is a reason the chests have a timer to reopen if you fail. So other people get a chance. Suck it.

Honestly the MMO genre at this point is complete garbage, no-one seems to be capable of making or maintaining a good MMO anymore.

ESO was evidently a meh game by the comments here.

SWTOR was garbage.

GW2 was too repetetetetetetive for me.....wheee 5000000 fights doing exactly the same thing every day!

WoW has been garbage for a long time.

DDO is still fun to me, but there are times where I see the shitty parts peaking through....

(these are just the examples I can think of now)

Unless people start making an actual effort in their MMOs, that genre is gonna go out in a giant flaming ball of WoW clones and failed experiments.

I don't know... I saw my brother trying out SWTOR, and it seems awesome to me.

It has nowhere near the customizability and toon rebuild value of DDO, but the storytelling is great.

ESO, however, was just like playing Morrowind with better graphics. Although, I haven't played ESO extensively yet. The comments here, though, are discouraging me from even trying.

What would be awesome is My Little Pony Online.

Personally, I'd like to see DDO2: Multiverse (working title) which has all the features of DDO minus the bugs, lag, feathered loot, Cordovan, and featuring new worlds content (Krynn, Greyhawk, Spelljammer Universe, and Dominaria to start), better animation, better coding (!!!) and a feature to boot and ban Veriden, Stoddard, and Vaelani forever.

I want ddo to make a progression server. I would ditch the shithole server I am on and play that - forever.

How far back would you want them to go?

Personally, the last time I really liked the game was back when we were running Elob, but i've played the content to death. I'm not sure a progression server would hold my interest any more than the new shit has.

ESO has better storylines, crafting, guild systems, pvp, character appearance design, graphics, and it's not p2w (yet), shittier combat, and a worse grouping system than a child could invent.

Plus they've made stupid decisions about xp for dungeons and pvp.

Otherwise, the game is immersive and beautiful.  It has way, way, waaaaaaaaaaaaaay more content than DDO ever will have and more players. As Munkenmo writes above, I'm tired of running the same quests over and over in the mario-brothers grind that DDO has become. End game consists of 2 raids or etring.

It's genuinely too bad that Turbine took DDO down this path. Despite it's bugs, the DDO engine simply feels more real. The ESO engine renders more realistically, and combat isn't bad - you can move around in real time, avoid mobs' attacks by tumbling out of the way (although the tells are often stupidly obvious, with nice little red lines telling you exactly where the damage will be), blocking attacks and interrupting spells has real meaning (combatant is stunned for a bit), but it's just not quite as responsive as DDO's.

That's really my only gripe. Oh, and it's currently plagued by botting, speed hackers and gold spammers.

basically SWTOR is super duper repetitive, and has no replay value......it is very boring, even though the story is fun.

So with todays latest patch, the dupe bug with guild banks is supposedly *fixed*. Wonder how well ZOS will catch people who used it. Turbine didn't seem to do a good job when we did it in DDO, lol. On side note, surprised there hasn't been much ESO chat on here. Aside from a few quirks, I'm finding ESO a fun break from DDO.

It was awesome, I've got max inventory space, awesome crafting levels and some fully upgraded horses.

Well, all the way back to level 10 would be fine. I personally stopped enjoying the game when they went past amarath. LoB was nice for the gear, outside of that I found it dreadfully boring.

I liked the Lob raid, I still think he's the best boss they have, the explorer zones sure as fuck sapped the fun out of it though.

I'd definately give that progression server a go, it'd be fun to play ddo before the power creep.

I don't think I'd stay on it long term though.

No, not long term, but it would be nice to refresh why I fell in love with ddo in the first place. Then it would become a side game for fun instead of a major time sink. I liked LoB, but I was tired of clearing the path through the explorer zone. It is fucking dumb. I understand doing it the first time, I really do, and I love how they fixed that with thunderpeaks and the shadow dragon.

I stopped playing around 2 months in. :/ Partially due to lack of $, but mostly due to lack of interest. Been playing Terraria, Steamworld Dig, Battle for Middle Earth 2, and Minecraft lately. Steamworld Dig is not a bad little game. Only 6 hours or so of play time to beat it, but, as it only cost $1 with a Humble Bundle not long ago, good bang for your buck.
