Being a ghost means you can't pull levers, though.  That shuts out most quests, unfortunately.

Pets can... Either the Kitty, the Feathered Bear, the Arti Doggy, the Druid Doggy or any Drone...

Put the Pet/Drone on Sit/Passive, die, put stone in bank, go through quest, when there's a door, nag the pet enough for him to teleport to you, use lever, put it back to Sit/Passive, rinse repeat 'til completion.
