Heya NotHar,

I ER'd last night not realizing that 10K Stars is bugged at the moment so I can't take it as my Monk 6, martial arts bonus feat at level 14.

I took Dodge as a place holder, hoping that a respec with Fred will work (cross fingers) later tonight but somehow I doubt it.

If Fred's respec doesn't work, I could drop IC: Thrown (lvl 15) or Master of Forms (lvl 21) for 10K Stars.

I'm thinking IC since I'm have Halfling Master Thrower so I'm only missing out on 1 crit threat range.

What are your thoughts?

Open a ticket and explain the situation to a GM, they're pretty good about issuing lesser hearts.

Will be fixed in patch in 2 weeks, can be patient or smthn, or just pick for another feat

I ended up taking 10K Stars at lvl 21 instead of Master of Forms.

i'm curious about how shuriken expertise and ninja training 2 works with 10k stars.
the extras shurikens procs only from first projectile? or 10k stars override both abilities?

10k stars world independently of Ninja Spy 2 and SE.

So, w/o 10k, every throw animation is:

1 star
+(Dexterity%) chance of another star (SE)
+(Dexterity%) chance of another star (NSII)

10k is additive to the above, and from the 1st star (throw animation)
Allows 1-3 extra stars based on Wisdom.

10k stars off doubleshot. Without the 10k, you get the above
+(Doubleshot%) chance of another star.

If your wisdom doesn't go much above 40~, constant Doubleshot above 50-55% outpaces 10k, on average.

So while you will always need monk for a shuriken thrower for Ninja Spy, with enough Doubleshot you do not always need 10k, and therefore more than 3 monk levels, theoretically. In practice its difficult to get that much Doubleshot.

EH or EE Morningstar with a good augment slotted is better than almost any spell touched shrikes mutation you could get, barring special situations aka DR breaking

One spell touched shuriken that I have and really like has:
-Screaming
-Lightning Strike
-Life stealing (or Imp. Paralyzing if you can get your hands on this permutation  )
-Fracturing


But harhar is right, past lvl26 its best to go for TF tier2 with Meteoric Ruby etc...


One thing I wonder about though, it seems that Endless Night slotted in offhand may be proccing with mainhand shuriken.
Anyone knows if it does for sure?

Well, it doesn't have "on hit" in the description and when I use it with my TWF wolf (slotted offhand) it definitely goes off. However, since its a wolf and not a shuriken tosser I can see how it may or may not be working...

Well a wolf does get off hand strikes and even if you have the augment slotted in a shield you get the doublestrike proc's from animal form. The augment itself says:

Minimum Level: 1

• Double-click to upgrade a weapon to inflict a Negative Level on vorpal hits.
• This augment can go in a Red, Orange, or Purple Augment Slot.

The key words there "on vorpal hits." I have a T2 Short sword (+100 Potency/35% Armor Piercing Slotted with a Devotion 114 Ruby). I tried the Crushing Wave, Mabar, Ruby Eye of Erosion/Inferno/Tempest and none of them seem to proc on the ranged shuriken strikes like the Firey Detionation of Celesia will. I had hoped that since the new Crushing Wave augment was the Greensteel effect similar to Celestia's Firey Detonation that it would go off but no such luck. I haven't bothered to test it on live but I as far as I know it's still the same. I may try one of them when the next patch hits live to see if they fiddled with it at all.

I truly would love to see something more useful than just a devotion augment for the short sword but I will take what I can get. Oh and for those wondering why I went 100 Potency instead of the 150 Devotion. That chucker will switch periodically from being a 12 Wiz PM and regular fleshy builds. I put whatever heals me as the red augment and enjoy the 100 potency for the times I get colors or shiradi proc's going off.
