Monk gear assistance, please :)

Right, so.  As I've mentioned previously, I've not spent any real time in epic levels since MotU, having been concentrating on getting heroic completionist on my main.  It took me ages; I only get a few hours a week  :/  Anyway, I got a bit sick of PL-gathering so I capped my poor l'il 2nd-life halfling monk, but selecting gear is making my ears bleed because I'm just completely unfamiliar with end-game shizz these days.

Here's what I've got:

Head: Wise X of Resistance 10
Trinket:  Greater Nimble for perma-Blur
Neck: Mystic Eidolons (Golem Heart in green slot, but will doubtless change this because 2% proc is bollocks)
Goggles: Deadly X of Natural Armor 9 (will go up to 10 if I can find one)
Body: Spider-Spun Caparison, +3 Insightful Wis
Cloak:  Prismatic, Accuracy X (Good Luck +2 in green slot)
Belt: lootgen Fortification 120% of Protection (Dex 8 in yellow slot)
Gloves:  currently PDK for the 30% heal amp, will be Backstabbers when I find some for Improved Deception
Wrist: Prisoner's Manacles, Con +9 (Str +8 in colorless slot, purple slot is empty)
Ring 1: Consuming Darkness EE (PRR in green slot)
Ring 2: Dun'Robar ring, +2 Insight Str, 8% Dodge, meh effect... will one day find a second +10 stunning ring for this toon
Boots:  Goatskin EE (False Life 40 in green slot, True Globe of Imperial Blood in colorless)

How do I improve on this?

One major caveat: I simply cannot raid, as I'm never online long enough in a single session.  If I can't trade for it or pull it out of a quest I can run by myself in 30-40 minutes at the outside, I can't get it.  :/

Thanks in advance, folks  Smiley

I know he said no raids, but swapping arkat's cord for battleragers and then switching to prisoner's manacles sounds pretty sexy to me.

Awww, I didn't notice this at the first glance Sad
Remove Dragon Masque and litany from the gear set up and gear is golden.

Thanks guys.  My halfling won't be using a docent any time soon, but if I ever get around to redoing my WF build then I'll attempt to replicate the above!

Thunderforged stuff I can't do, because raid.  Litany likewise.

Ghost-waking cloak: I don't really get this.  Cha +8 can be slotted anywhere, you want better than 7 resistance, Ghostly is on the Eidolon necklace anyway and another 5 DR (talking pure monk here) is meh, particularly as there's no slot on the cloak.  I seriously don't understand what it accomplishes in this setup.

A greensteel cloak is a good idea, but I would struggle to slot Accuracy.

Dragon masque: I'd love one, but it's raid-only.  Maybe one day, if my life changes utterly again  Wink

Arkat's Cord: does literally nothing for me.  I have more than one, but didn't use them as all the effects are duplicated elsewhere.

Skirmisher's Bracers: yes, I must get some!  The loss of TWO slots hurts a lot though.  A lot a lot.  I have some Deadly of Natural Armor goggles with a green slot, but it's of a lower value: IX of VIII, if memory serves.

A swap-out greensteel Displacement clicky might do me some good, but there's no room for wearing a permanent item as things stand.

I already have several Shield clickies, which are way more useful than I thought they would be  Smiley

Blue Dragon Helm: does nothing for me, beyond adding slots.  I actually have pulled one +3 Wis, but I'm keeping it for my main, who will get much more use out of it as a druid.  I have +3 Insight Wis on my Spider-Spun Carparison.

And yeah, tell me about the QP nerf: that Dun'Robar ring has +10 Shatter on it, which is now about as much use as a spare dick at a wedding  :/

Hmmm.  Thanks again guys.  It looks like I'm not missing anything at all that I can actually get, barring the gloves that are already in my plan and the bracers I will acquire by some means.  Any remaining gimpiness is therefore entirely down to me.  Smiley

I am feeling a lack of past lives on this toon.  And a lack of "being a Human or Bladeforged", but there's just something I like about a teeny-tiny halfling smacking the living crap out of enormous monsters that so far is making all the disadvantages worthwhile  Wink

Good idea there on weapon choice, I was having the same dilemma.

I feel like you're missing out on some extra damage though (not that it matters too much with druids). Why not slot 14 PRR and keep your seeker from consuming darkness? You could also swap your bracers or belt out for a doublestrike item + reinforced fists. Eidolon necklace also feels very redundant on your setup. You've got DB, ghostly, +2 CON, and you don't really need the extra DEX or green slot that badly.

Dragon masque is great, but for druids especially I don't feel like it's the best choice (depending on your robe). By sticking with black scale you gain 3% doublestrike which is pretty significant for all the procs/effects your getting.

The other thing I hate for melees is with robe choice you're either giving up +1 tactics or 5% damage.

I have no need for extra dps when i have a druid splash, so seeker and doublestrike dont entice me as much as keeping my hamp, saves, and prr up high. Actually dont even need to be in a good destiny either but thats cos druid is cheese ;p  I would get rid of shelterng ring If I get the belt from shadow raid and a Con10 gfl 50 ring but lol gl on dat brah

Dragon Mask over blue helm is mainly for deception and blue only gives me a +1 wis mod over an augment slotted. My wisdom, Str, and Con are low 40s, although I do lose str if i swap out of LD.

I got rid of the Black robe and set mainly because Dragon's Edge is on every weapon I made, almost.

Good points. I said black helm, not blue helm though because doublestrike is sexy with druids. Black robe isn't for the armor piercing, just for 5% damage increase. But I see where you're coming from though.

What are you doing with your QP build now? Not sure if 16 monk is better than 12 monk and deeper splashes of other classes. How high is your wisdom to hit 80 stun fist, mid 50s?

"Went for".  Hah.  I have pulled 7 Dun'Robar rings, and have exactly one stunning ring; and that's bound to my main.  Stupid things have a sucky drop-rate, and as for finding one that's actually *useful*...   Undecided

Ah well.  My druid will be amazeballs, and will likewise be able to slot decent DPS wraps.  At the moment I'm using Addy Knuckles with Endless Night, Meteor and Force slotted, just for shits and giggles  Cheesy

I've thought about a dual-box transfer, but...  then my main won't have it.  And that would also suck.   Cheesy

On another note, I have since managed to get the Skirmisher's Bracers and the Backstabber's Gloves [1].

First point: until I completed the setup, I had been using the Golden Guile.  Comparing the BGloves and the GGuile, it really really appears as though Deception procs WAY more often from the GGuile and even seems to last longer.  Am I imagining things?

Second point:  holy fuck, I am really missing the Hamp from the PDK gloves.  I have no idea what to do about this  :/

[1] I've never run any of the Shadowfail quests before, so it was fun to do a mildly challenging EH solo run completely blind.  But... is it me, or is that freaking optional Mimic about five times as tough as the actual end boss and his pet Undead Losersaurus?!  That was a yawn-fest beatdown, although I imagine it would have gone very quickly in a party (or even if I'd been on a toon with burst DPS).  I hate to imagine how tedious that gets on EE without a Furyshotter or similar  :/

Grin

Hah, yeah, okay.  Smiley  But seriously, I wanted at least ONE toon that stays at level cap and is actually flagged for shit.  I don't want to have to turn my halfling into a Bladeforged.  My now-defunct WF monk/kensai though...  He's a definite candidate.  And I discovered when trawling through my banks yesterday that I have an EE Livewood Docent kicking around, so it'd almost be rude not to.

All that said, none of the above helps my halfling even slightly  Sad

Sup Parry 4 Hamp 20 bracers...

AFAIK this shit doesn't drop in game anymore...

Unless some of y'all have pages of 'em stored JIC, most players are not going to see these.

Best I ever found are BTCoE 10% Hamp Sup Parry 4 with a colorless slot...and they sit in an alt's TR bank until they become useful enough to sacrifice them to one toon.
