I would like to convert the .dat file into wav(s), but somehow I donīt find the way to do it.

I found this:

http://quel-anon.com/ddo-sound-extractor

that comes from here:

https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/240200-DDO-Sound-Extractor

but I see no place were I can download the software.

I love this guy, he shows everywhere how fine his software works...but donīt see were to download it or do it myself..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GohxU2PMos

I have seen some other extractors, but I donīt like to download suspicious software.

Some ideas?

Not quite what you looking for, but this website has sounds and music extracted from the game here.

Thanks for this!
I was looking for a way to extract the music but couldn't find any working software.

Also this guy uploads music on his channel:

I don't think there was ever a time where it was uploaded... Reading through the thread, he mentions something about waiting for a Dev to confirm that it's ok to post the program... That likely never happened.

You could probably PM the guy on the MotherFlipForums , and see if he'll share it with you. Though his latest activity was 2 months ago.

Exactly what I want. I am running a campaing in www.roll20.net

You can upload the files in soundcloud, put them in the campaign. It is very easy.

I have some sound files that I just take by running some recording software and taking all other sounds out, but it is a bit of work.

it is really very nice, very very easy to use. Just give it a try.

I have been using also maptools. Maptools is also very good, but it is a bit more complicated (mainly, conexion errors where you have to forward your ports and that fuck...I think they solved the issue). The good thing of maptools, you have a ton of free tokens and stuff, and has no lag at all.

Rise, thread, rise!

Here, I was thinking about this again just recently. Decided to make a little search, and stumbled upon this.

http://lotrounpacker.ucoz.com/load/dat_unpacker_tool/1-1-0-3

It definitely works. Tried it on client_sound.dat and got more files than I can shake a stick at and they work.

You have to have the files from the program in the game installation folder. Also, the program itself, DAT_UNPACKER.exe must be run from Command Prompt.

Have fun... If anyone is still interested.  Wink

Also, don't ask why this post is here too... It just is... Maybe I'm sleep deprived and just don't know it.
