Also my new favorite split is my current life I'm playing which is a SA based 6Monk/5Wiz/9Rogue Elf.

I'm doing a similar split but swapping Mnk and Rog levels. If I find that I don't need Improved Evasion at endgame then my plan was to TR into the same build as you, but still stay Halfling assuming they fix it.

I'm only lvl 9 at the moment though, as a second-life toon.

What point exactly are you trying to make?

Whats's a horrible weapon?

What's not a horrible weapon?

Most importantly, based on what criteria?

I expect much better arguing from you.

These days not horrible would have to classified as weapons with improvements to their crit profiles, not one single shuriken has these improvements.

The sheer fact that even without the stacking throws you made a compelling argument for a low level dart proves my point.

I expected a better counter :p

Physical damage, at this point with TF, just turns out to be about 33% of maximum shuriken throwing damage as you well know. Even with an improved critical version, if it was missing for example TF procs, it would probably be suboptimal.

And that dart build required Swashbuckler, so no monk at all (or pally which I don't care as much about). It would be nice if there was a way to match damage on a lower throw rate but higher base damage thrower build one way or the other (through weapons, and/or feats and maybe LD). I do think using TF weapons though you could come up with a Shuriken build that would be in the pack using OC and LD, but charging the Blitz is a pain on a ranged character and/or if you ever lost it. It's not awful, but it's a drag.

TBH, I think it was Feather who loved Shuriken. I don't think anyone else cares at Turbine, so I doubt we'll ever see any more unique named ones. It is a shame. I mean, they had all the potential in the world to make all Throwing weapons competitive with a few small tweaks in U22 especially with Swash, but they flailed it.

I'll agree in principle, but teeeechnically, there is one single shuriken with improved crit profile (and isn't keen)... http://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Snowstar

Was snowstar always that good or did it get improved with the named item / augment pass?

This was the original. It was later on changed (check how much it is worth).

After the price was lowered it was changed in some random gear pass.

It was always a favorite of mine. Free quest end reward from Cult of the Six. Never worried about using bows or anything for levers because I had my trusty snowstar.

That picture is much more like how I remember it.

Pity it gained 4 levels without gaining a red slot, its almost sexy as hell.

Yeah I just hope the change wasnt retroactive. Then again, it is turbine, so if it was it might be level 1 +10 with the ability to spawn snowmen. I will have to check my tr bank.
