Transfering Commendations of Heroism?

Just wondering if there's a method to transfer these from one character to another on the same account. Only got the one Raiders Box and I'd love to be able to upgrade my Pinion without having to try and get a Commendation through a raid first.

Ah. Managed to actually find a listed method that supposedly still works. I have thus far been unable to get it to work. Perhaps I'm not fast enough. Shame I don't know how to script macros.

In any event, for completeness sake:

From Ollie

Open Mailbox
Open Compose Mail
Input a Recipient
Drag Bag to Composed Mail
Disconnect
Click Send
Open Bag
Double Click a CoV (1 cov or 999999, doesnt matter. Its to Interupt the sequence)
Move items you wish to be sent into the bag
Reconnect

If done right/fast enough, the bag will be sent with bta/btc stuffs to your recipient

EDIT: I would like to add I am now getting this to work 100%. Thank you to Ollie and Dropbear. Also anyone else who wished to assist and posted in the thread.

This method is not 100% correct.  The DC comes first, then drag bag, send, COV, etc etc.

Also COV do not work as the timing has been changed.  Use an augment.

CoV still work fine for me.
The animation didn't appear to be the driver of behaviour.  It was simply an interrupt.

But feel free to use other items that enact something if it works for you.  Smiley

Both methods work.

I can't get this to work. Is it how fast I enter everything?  Should I script macro it?

I've only had success sending to other accounts, and only if they are logged on at the time I send it.  I've never had success mailing BTC stuff to myself.

My trick is to mail it to a friend accomplice, switch characters, and have them repeat the same trick back to my alt.

This.

And it also seems to help if they are in the same in instance.  Dupe comms/phlogs/whatever on the bot account and mail them to your toons yourself.  BTC items seem to be a bit more difficult to mail than BTA.

Depending on your timing, 3 results possible:
1) Mail empty bag
2) "This item cannot be mailed"
3) You have mail!

If you mail the bag empty then you're there to trade the empty back to your other account.  I find it easier to save up multiple items to send at once.  The gather button does work for multiple items but only once every 60 seconds or so. I've been able to mail myself up to a dozen items in a single mail and nailed the timing on my second attempt. I've had other times trying to send a single ERSS essense where it took me 20+ attempts before I got it to go.  Keep practicing.

HINT: I use jeweler's tool kits for interrupt as they cannot be 'gathered' in a green bag.  Also, pay attention to the timer on your interrupt item and experiment.

Exactly how thorough of a DC is recomended, here? I've heard(on these forums) people saying to use a wifi adapter on a long cable, I've also heard people suggest just straight-up unplugging.

Now, I have some experience as a network tech, so I have things like Ethernet couplers lying around. In the scenario where the back of your computer is kinda far away, it could help to just have the LAN cable sitting across your lap and pull the cable out right there. But that's assuming fully unplugging the LAN cable is the correct course of action.

I'll never understand the propensity of people to brag about being good at a video game. Its a toy you play with for fun. The only person who should be proud of you is your mother. If you're 3.

I use zone alarm to block the DDO server IP.  Just create a custom zone with whatever DDO IP you are connecting to (use system resource monitor in Win7/8 to find the IP).  Put that IP in a public zone so that when you move the slide from moderate to high security it blocks 'public' zoned IPs.  No more flaky network adapter reconnects, no delays in connecting or re-connecting and no disconnects from Team Speak while duping or mailing.

Start>control panel>hardware>device manager>network adapter>driver>disable.
This is fast, works 100% of the time and is easy to do in windowed mode.

Your reconnect speed(ping) is probably too fast.  Use Net limiter to throttle your speed.  I use 2000b/sec for duping and 3000b/sec for mailing.

I have a desktop switch handy on my desk and actually pop a physical cable out of the port.  It seems to be more reliable than doing it through software disconnects, but that's just my experience.

I like this approach - plus easier on the thumbs then my method of ganking a cable every time I "craft".

Same thing I use, very simple to setup as well. I do not get 100% success but it saves so much time.

Thats basically what I was thinking of doing. Hmmm... might have to try this when I get home.

I have used other methods posted, here are the issues with some of them:

1) DHCP using ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew - can possibly not renew in a timely manner and cause a client disconnect.  This shouldn't happen but I have seen it nonetheless

2) Windows adapter disable/enable - Sometime the adapter disappears from the list and a reboot is required before it comes back

3) Physical cable/wifi switch disconnect - you need to be sitting there to do it - fuck that!

In all of these cases, macroing overnight can become troublesome or problematic, if you're doing other things in the background or running mumble, teamspeak, etc you are constantly disconnecting and can't talk to your guildies about what to dupe/mail next.

Bottom line is that any of these methods are acceptable as long as you are there and don't plan on doing anything else while you're duping/mailing. I've used every method here and now I can't see myself going back to any of the other methods while zone alarm is so smooth.

Dear players,

The D&D rules you were familiar with were too simple to understand, so we're continuing our move away from them to needlessly confusing subsystems that will make your play experience less fun and invalidate old builds and loot. So I just realized this method only actually works on ingredients...

That is definitely handy. Unfortunately its items like full Raiders boxes and other BTA, non-ingredients that I'd like to bounce around.

Ah well, glad to know a working method exists.

What if the bag is BtA or you want to transfer an item that doesn't go into a bag?  Not even worried about duping, I'd just really love to transfer some items from an old account.

By "ingredients," you must mean, "shit that goes in bags," right?

Otherwise I have to let go of my dream of trading the "Player's Manual" to both free toons on my secret alt. acct. mule, crunching out 40-60 bags each, and storing enough augs. ings. & colls. to supply the entire server.

Or better yet, loaning out the pw and turning the acct. into a public library.
