Does the crit range from swashbuckler and LD pulverize stack? I was thinking about a rogue-bard-fighter light hammer user.

Quote:
Swashbuckling: Stance:
Passive: While Swashbuckling, the following weapons receive Competence bonuses to their critical profiles:
Light Mace, Light Hammer,+2 Threat Range, +1 Multiplier

Quote:
Pulverizer : Passive Bonus: Increases the critical threat range of bludgeoning weapons you equip by 1

Pulverizer is also a competence bonus, sadly competence bonuses don't stack. Therefor the threat range aspect will not stack, the greater value will apply.  ie. because Swashbuckler provides a better bonus than the LD's Pulveriser, The swashbucklers threat bonus is applied whilst pulverizer is ignored.

If you were to go with handaxes though, swashbuckler and LD complement each other nicely.  Swashbuckler will boost a handaxes threat range by 2, whilst LD will boost the crit multiplier on 19&20 by 2.

If you do prefer bludgeoning weapons it's worth noting that LD also has the ability:
Quote:
Devastating Critical : Passive Bonus: +1 Critical Damage Multiplier on rolls of 19-20.

This does stack with the +1 multiplier that swashbuckler grants.  The reason being that despite being the same type (competence) they're still bonuses effecting different things. Swashbuckler will apply a +1 mod for all crits, whereas this only grants +1 on your rolls of 19-20.

Do keep in mind that if you are planning on twisting in whirling wrists that the Thunderforged throwing axes are still bugged when it is used. The animation will throw but no attack rolls are made.

That's a weird one, does 2/3 ranks in whirlwind allow axes to work?

What I found and a clarification,  the bugging only happens with Thunderforges throwing axes, weird I know.

Okay so if you have full whirling wrists with nothing else your fine (but slow)

but if you have quick draw, rapid shot, and any level of whirling wrist up at the same time? bugged.

If you have quick draw, rapid shot  its bugged

Going to check some more tonight move around feats

i want to make a dwarf that uses Swashbuckling, Con to damage with throwing hammers, and has sniper shot, I think. Cant decide if I'll use Arty or not for rune arm procs, or just open handed for 10% Doubleshot.

There's also an interesting dwarf enhancement that gives you 7% weapon damage in fullplate with a shield equipped, which could be fun to have a fully armored thrower. Probably have to wait for pally though since you cant swashbuckle in full plate.

Least you can stack em with Pulverizer.

Sadly nope, as my dwarf hammer bard found out when he started throwing hammers. Pulverizer doesn't add to thrown hammers.

Well at least you didn't make a entire Dwarf bard build based on the assumption that it would work.... and then when you switched to axes found the thunderforged throw/axes bugged...  sniffle sniffel  like I did... Waaaaa!

although in all honesty after I saw just how fast the attacking with SWF plus a alacrity items was... well I stopped throwing anyway  Smiley

The power of IPS is why I will never go back to Melee.

The ability to kill trash by attacking 2-inifinty mobs at a time at full DPS is too powerful. From distance.

Make it a wolf. Get 2wf. Have Harhar hate and call it cheese while sticking to his guns that ranged builds are WAI too.

I'm sorry, but TWF and SWF are simply out and out not supposed to ever go together. This is known, recorded, and part of the design of SWF.

What mechanic exactly am I exploiting besides 3 extra dex from Shadow Dodge? I run in Shiradi and DC, both are supposed to be Range friendly ED's.

I don't have any cheese stances from AA, etc.

My builds are just well thought out. They don't involve cheesing.

yup, problem is I have a full on chucker so even if it all was cranking right on the bard/thrower its never even close, you feel so slow. Especially after the cucker or runnng the bard SWF haste etc...  nutsy fun.

Like people said it doesn't stack with swashbuckling.. Hand Axes are where it's at  IMO.  And if you're really cool you farm Litany for the x4 hand axe. Giving you a x8 on a 19-20.. (OC,DC,WarChanter, and Tier5 LD) That is if you drop Coup De Grace and go Warchanter for the extra x1 on 19-20. Personally I did because Coup doesn't work for shit on epics, everything is warded. Easier to just do more damage and kill faster.

And still a x4 on 17-20..x3 with a regular hand axe.  It's what I've been running epic elites with. Fairly easily I might add.

No. Litany Axe doesn't work with Swashbucklers.
