Or you can just read the in-game description. I have yet to see a non-immune or deathwarded mob not die to PWK.

On the same note, PWS (power word stun) and PWB (power word blind) work the same way.

And also - you can just use direct damage against spell resistant mobs. Most elemental spells do not have an SR check.

When my caster was in her sorc life, I played like a wizard: instakill spells everywhere with elemental SLA backup. Max empower PL: wiz, PL:barb, spell pen, SF:necro, GSF: necro, and went elf for the spell pen off elven arcanum. That's 7 feats, and I could cc the drow in EE eveningstar chain.

Then I TRed into monk. It was a sad, sad day.

EE storm horns orcs/stone giants aren't a good measure for required dc for no fail since they are so much higher then runner up "tier" of fort saves.

If you can get reliable results after an energy drain or energy drain + an sla enervation on those mobs then you are fine, most other mobs in game will perish without those debuffs (74-75 dc).

There are other simple, effective and fun ways to deal with groups of super high fort. Personally I like hypno (the will debuff might be over kill but it also allows you to target your mass hold on a stationary group of mobs rather then a moving one) or web followed by mass hold and then energy burst followed by a melle range hell ball. Even if you're fire based (I love empyrean magic) web is great since energy burst and hell ball don't burn it.

On my pale master I run with 75 dc self buffed and very happy with it. Enchant stands on 68-69 after it suffered some in favor of taking spell pen and extend. My draconic sorc gets by with a lot less by simply holding and nuking and when I really want to I just couple an energy drain with enervation and FoD.

Hm I'm not sure what I'm missing, but when I get an 11 item and litany  on my sorc I can get my enchant DCs up to 63-64 I believe, and my evo DCs will be around the same.....

If anyone has a breakdown for getting to around 65-70 on both enchant and evo I would love to get it (I find 60 enchant holds reliably well in EE wheloon surprisingly, but the saves seem weak there......for stormhorns I would say I get around 60-70% efficiency with a 60 hold DC).

But I may just be getting lucky with enemy rolls, so you never know.
