So it looks like 4 or 5 paladin will get you most of the defensive benefits out of sacred defender.  Although, I'm leaning towards 4 paladin, since tier 5 enhancements don't seem worth the AP to me.  4 paladin gets you 10% run boost, which is what I have my sights on.  With that in mind, I'm considering updated versions of the following builds for my completionist:


Just shiradi -> 12 wizard/4 paladin/2 favored soul

Secure's favored soul -> 11 favored soul/4 paladin/5 wizard

Int based sorcerer -> 14 sorcerer/4 paladin/2 favored

Currently, I'm still leaning towards sorcerer, as I think probably it has the highest burst DPS.  But both of the other builds have 1 SP maximize, which is extremely sexy.  With the loss of air dance to fit in the paladin enhancements, one of the other builds might be better.

11 FVS/4 pally/ 5 wiz - no BB, no archon, weak CM.

Also, atm on Lama, you don't benefit from greater sacred defense while holding a weapon/orb in off hand. Works only with two handers, shield or empty hand. Supposedly it's a bug, god knows when it will be fixed though.

Oh yes, you're right.  I forgot that favored soul's don't get cleric spell progression.  In that case, I think the build would probably need to be 12 favored soul/3 paladin/5 wizard, which loses out on the 10% speed boost.

5 Wizard doesn't get SLA chain missles. I guess you'll just cast it with cheap Maximize?

Good catch looks like the FvS version is out of the picture. 

Decided to play around with enhancements on Lamma (Sacred Defense is bugged atm, requires 6 paladin levels.  Just took a random dump enhancement instead)



ASF from adamantime body is 35% - 5% bladeforged - 5% EK - 10% fanged gloves - 15% blue augment.

Did you test to see if the 10% from fanged gloves stack with the 15% from the blue augment? I haven't but my guess is that it won't.

I just tr'd my shiradi spammer into 12fvs/5wiz/3monk (drow), wis based.

Ill run in water t3 for ki regen with tf SS's. This allows me basically permanent Aligning the Heavens for -25% SP cost. With improved max from AoV and AM + Imp Max II item (crafted for now) i my maximized BBs cost less than base cost for BB. Same for my self cast CM and MM (i still have SLA mm also).

The problem before when i was 15wiz/3monk/2 FvS was that i couldnt really keep Empyean Magic charged. With Archon and 11pt maximized nimbus/searing light, thats not a problem. Im only lvl 18 right now, so i might not end up liking it as much at 28 wothout sla CM to charge just rewards, but BB kiting will arguably result in a similiar amount of force spell crits, and the archon should help too.

I may also twist -10 reflex debuff from magister this life ro play with now that im throwing BBs. We'll see.

Anyone know if 3bc goggles or greenscale armor stack with Aligning the Heavens?

Yes they do stack (same goes for staff of the petitioner with aligning the heavens).

Awesome! Too bad I just TR'd without making a green robe. oh well.

I guess I could wear the goggles but I'd have to make new GS Items. Not the end of the world. Also I wouldn't lose blue set Spell Power

Now my only question is if I should have gone Wisdom for BB, or Int for Ruin/HellBall.

I was using BB to fish shiradi procs mainly, the damage from BB itself was an added bonus.
Maybe cha for hellball, burst and sp?
Edit: int for reflex, spellcraft and maybe some dc's is still better, but between wis and cha i would personally go cha.

Oh, you're right, probably not.  So that means I'll have to scrounge another 2 AP from somewhere.
