Ahh sad, so they are bugged, as per the monk guy, but differently than supreme cleave.

Does holy retribution work? It does 3 cleave attacks in a row, although with limited number of uses.

All the pally attacks work in tree form.

This means you could make a 6 warlock 14 paladin with holy sword and IC:slash making Twinblade 16-18x3, 19-20x5 on pali cleaves.

Why not an epic dynastic falcata for 16-18x4, 19-20x6 on pali cleaves + cha to dmg?

Well apparently they aren't like Supreme Cleave, so you don't get the crit profile.

They are differently bugged for unarmed than Supreme Cleave.

But ya, that would work for barb as a great weapon.

Falcata is only 2(1d8).  So in tree form it is half the damage of a twinblade with just some xtra crit.  Combined with the fact the pally cleaves are useless in tree form and holy sword doesn't work well either, there is no advantage of going paladin for a tree when built/played properly.

Wiki says it does cleaves, but in-game says it is single target and I can confirm that it is, even if does work in tree form. It also has limited number of uses.

I tr'd out of pally when mechs got updated. I can assure you Holy Retribution would AoE on thf builds.

Hrmm, I really want to try convert over to a build with 5 levels of paladin for +20 all saves now that lock has ASF. I have an idea of what to do, gota do some mechanics testing.

I think I may end up with something hilarious.

OMG, I just had this crazy idea. And some of the prior posts make more sense now. It's utterly fucking brilliant if it works (10% chance) and the result of sleep deprivation if it doesn't (90% chance).

Now to test it!

You basically want the best [w] you can. Axe of Famine springs to mind, although it's a pity all the other effects suck. Easy to farm though, just do 3 chains for the extended end reward.

I went back in and you are right, there is an AoE effect to Holy Retribution, it's just that with TWF the area of effect seems to be more or less in a small arc in front of you, so you don't hit mobs at your side like a regular cleave. I also tried it with THF and my perception was that it behaves differently and has a wider arc, closer to the cleave.

I guess this is again some weird turbine logic...

So my crazy idea partially paid off. If you have plate/shield equipped, but no weapon,  you fight unarmed with cleaves, which means TWF.

I was trying to see if you could get extra monk WW hits, while wearing plate and a shield, but no weapon, and I was going to finish testing, but my VIP ran out, so I didn't have monk anymore. I'll get it in a while. I ran the test anyway just to see what would happen as a baseline.

It also had to do with trying to explain the person that said they did more damage with a better shield.

Why the hell can't people just shut the fuck up. There is no need to ask if anything benefiting the player is WAI, because it never is. If you don't like it, don't do it.

rekt. this annoys me so fucking much. The current devs have no clue what is or isn't wai. it's arbitrarily decided on the spot by people who have never played the game until they started working here. They decided that their ideas are better than how actually shitty they really are, and so will nerf things to make their ideas seem better by proxy. This will kill primal as an ed choice, much like the way QP nerf killed off master as an ED choice. Mise well just get rid of every ED aside for, like 4.
